NFL Futures: Best Bet to Win NFC North (2021)

Can the Packers make it three in a row?

Aaron Rodgers is back with Green Bay, and the Packers have settled in as strong favorites to win the NFC North. While Detroit seems to be rebuilding under a new head coach, we can't dismiss Chicago and Minnesota from the discussion.

The Packers lead the division with a listed win total of 10.5. The Vikings are next in line at 8.5. The Bears have a win total of 7.5, while the Lions sit on an over/under of 5.5 on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Most people are looking at Green Bay vs. the field here. They are essentially asking themselves if the Packers have it in them to make another playoff push. While there's merit to this approach, I believe it ignores an emerging team that could finally break through.

We'll identify that team and look at the overall odds to win this "Black and Blue" division.

THE ODDS

Green Bay Packers
Odds to win NFC North: -145

We already know the deal with the Packers. They will go as far as Aaron Rodgers will take them. Is all the drama behind him, or will some of that leak into the regular season? If things are going well, then it shouldn't be an issue. If the Packers start to lose, then the media will inevitably ask those questions. Either way, Green Bay has the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl, trailing Kansas City and Tampa Bay while tied with Buffalo.

Minnesota Vikings
Odds to win NFC North: +250

The Vikings got off to a terrible start last season, and their defense was the main culprit. DB Cam Dantzler eventually grew into his role, and the Vikings added veteran DB Patrick Peterson to help out in the secondary. Getting Danielle Hunter back won't hurt either. Questions surround Minnesota's offensive line, but the team seems primed to take a step forward in 2021.

Chicago Bears
Odds to win NFC North: +500

The Bears are a wild card here. First off, we don't know what their QB situation looks like. Andy Dalton is supposedly the starter, but Justin Fields will likely take over sooner than later. Does the rookie have enough playmaking ability to win games for the Bears? That's the ultimate question. If Chicago can get an efficiency boost on offense, then they have a chance to flirt with double-digit wins.

Detroit Lions
Odds to win NFC North: +1900

Call it what you want to call it, but the Lions will not compete this year. They are rebuilding under their new head coach, Dan Campbell. This season is more about Campbell instilling a culture and finding which guys he wants to keep for the future. That being said, I believe that Detroit could represent a scrappy underdog through the season.

THE PICK

Minnesota Vikings: +250 at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Vikings were not as bad as their 7-9 record last season. So much went wrong for Minnesota right off the bat, and they seemed to have rectified those vulnerabilities.

Getting Danielle Hunter back is a fantastic boost for the Vikings, as his presence should help the entire defensive unit. Minnesota really missed him last season, and I believe he would've swung a few close games in their favor.

The gap between Green Bay and Minnesota isn't as large as these prices represent. That leads to an interesting value proposition with the Vikings. You can find them +250 over on FanDuel Sportsbook.
