NFL Injury Updates: Mike Evans, Deshaun Watson, Justin Herbert, Kenny Pickett
Another full slate of games Sunday resulted in some more high-profile names getting hurt to varying degrees. The Steelers are probably the most concerned, as their quarterback of the future went down with a knee injury. Two other QBs are dinged up but shouldnât miss any time going forward. Several other high-profile names left the field Sunday, and we have the most up-to-date information on them here.

NFL Injury Updates
Mike Evans (WR â TB)
Evans left Sundayâs win over the Saints in the first half with what looked to be a hamstring strain. The wide receiver was on the stationary bike on the Bucs sideline during the second half, which suggests this isnât too serious. Itâs definitely something to monitor, and I wouldnât expect to see the same level of production from Evans over the next couple of weeks if he does not miss any games. Thereâs also a risk of aggravating the strain, which would lead to an extended absence, so tread carefully when backing Evans and the Bucs.
Tee Higgins (WR â CIN)
One of Joe Burrowâs primary targets may miss a week or two with a fractured rib suffered in Sundayâs loss to the Titans. Already 1-3 and with a hobbled quarterback, the Bengals season is on the brink of disaster. Higginsâ production will depend very highly on his ability to manage the pain from the broken rib if he returns before it is fully healed.
Kenny Pickett (QB â PIT)
Monday is a big day for the Steelers. Weâll find out the extent of Kenny Pickettâs knee injury after some tests and imaging of the knee he hurt in the third quarter of yesterdayâs loss to the Texans. Best case scenario, itâs an MCL strain, and heâll miss a couple of weeks. Worst case? Torn ligaments, and Mitch Trubisky takes over for Pickett for the remainder of the season. Keep an eye out for news on Pickett later in the day Monday.
Javonte Williams (RB â DEN)
Williams looks to have escaped a major injury, leaving yesterdayâs loss to the Bears with a hip flexor. If he misses any time at all, donât expect it to be much. But this may cut into his production going forward. Just another frustrating situation for those who believe the third-year back should be among the elite in the league.
Pat Freiermuth (TE â PIT)
The Penn State alum suffered a hamstring strain in the third quarter Sunday. He will have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury and how much time he will miss. Monitor the news coming out of Pittsburgh for any updates on the length of time Freiermuth will miss.
Deshaun Watson (QB- CLE)
The Browns quarterback was a surprise scratch late Sunday morning. Watson, who is dealing with a shoulder injury, warmed up on the field prior to the game, and the team decided to hold him out of Sundayâs loss to the Ravens. The Browns have a bye this week, so the signal caller will have an extra week to heal before facing the 49ers.
Justin Herbert (QB â LAC)
Herbert suffered a fractured finger in his non-throwing hand in Sundayâs 24-17 victory over division rival Las Vegas. The Oregon product returned to the field and finished the game. Heâs not expected to miss any time and will play with a splint on the broken finger until it is healed.
