Week 12 Monday Night Football matchup pits two classic NFC North foes in the Bears and the Vikings. Minnesota just snapped a win streak last week, but is playing some of its best football of the year with Josh Dobbs at quarterback. The Bears got Justin Fields back at quarterback last week, but his return was spoiled by a late collapse to Detroit. Both of these teams will look to get back into the win column.

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings

Since their 1-4 start, the Vikings have been one of the hottest teams in the league. The narrative has centered around Josh Dobbs and what he’s been able to do in this offense, but Denver started to force him into some situations that made him look mortal. As teams continue to get tape on Dobbs in this Vikings offense, defenses will continue to gain an advantage.

The real reason, however, that the Vikings’ season has turned around is because the defense has shaped into a top-10 unit in the league. In DVOA, they rank ninth against both the pass and the run. With the pressure they’ve been able to generate this season, they should be able to give Justin Fields fits and force him to make mistakes. Chicago has struggled to run the ball at the running back position all year. Additionally, they haven’t really been able to unleash Fields in the run game like they did last season, due to his injuries as well as playcalling.

This game will be played indoors so it’s not as though the weather will be a factor. The defenses should have an advantage on both sides in this primetime matchup. Throw in the trend of primetime unders and it’s no secret where I’m going with my favorite bet. You have to take the under here. It’s a great matchup for an under and it’s almost as if primetime games are like adding an extra defender on the field. With these offenses, you wouldn’t even need it. The under is the best play for the game.
