NFL Monday Night Football Best Bets & Predictions: Broncos vs. Bills (Week 10)

Monday night pits two AFC foes against each other at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. The Broncos come into town off their bye while the Bills will be playing their third consecutive primetime game. On paper, this looks like it would be another primetime dud, but looking deeper at the matchup, this could be one of the best Monday Night Football contests of the year.

Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills

The Denver defense rates out as the worst in the league. This isn't a surprise. They gave up 70 points in a contest earlier in the season, but they've been improved in recent weeks. In their last three games, which include two games against the Chiefs, they've allowed just 15 points per game. If their recent results are any indication, they've turned a corner defensively and can keep their offense in the game.

For the Bills, their defense is becoming more and more of an issue. The injuries in the Buffalo defensive backfield have been stacking up and the results have been poor. Recent games saw the Buffalo unit struggle against Cincinnati and a New England offense that has looked anemic against every other defense they've played. Baker Mayfield even had some success moving the ball in a loss. Russell Wilson and the Broncos' offense have enough talent to hurt this defense which sits about average in the NFL per DVOA.

The Bills are a talented team with their weapons on offense. However, Josh Allen hasn't been able to get out of his own way. He's thrown an interception in five consecutive games and leads the NFL in interceptions through Week 9. Against this opportunistic Denver defense that has six interceptions in their last five games, he could very well see himself having trouble again.

If Denver can force Josh Allen to make mistakes they'll allow their offense a chance to control the pace and tone of the game. Russell Wilson still isn't the same quarterback as he was in Seattle, but he's improved from last season in nearly every metric. With some solid weapons in Denver that are finally healthy, he has enough firepower to score on this Buffalo defense. Unfortunately for Buffalo, the defense is too banged up to be favored by a touchdown or more to anyone. I like the Broncos on the line here.

Pick: Broncos +7 (-105)
