NFL Monday Night Football Best Bets & Predictions: Cowboys vs. Chargers (Week 6)
Both of these teams have come into 2023 with high expectations and both are looking to improve off of a slower start than they hoped. The Chargers are coming off of their bye week to host the Cowboys. The Cowboys have struggled on the west coast so far, dropping games to Arizona and San Francisco. Meanwhile, the Chargers are looking for a third straight win after narrowly dropping their first two games.

NFL Monday Night Football Best Bets & Predictions
Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have had one of the most potent offenses in the league again. QB Justin Herbert has been on fire, at the helm of a top five offense per DVOA. One area where they have struggled a bit is on the ground. Luckily for Los Angeles, RB Austin Eckeler is expected back for this game after the extra week of rest. That should take some load off of Herbert, but he should have success against a banged up Dallas defense. Brock Purdy and the 49ers were able to move the ball all day against the Cowboy unit. Herbert and his crew should do the same.
The Cowboys pass game continues to be a concern. Sure it's not fair to point out one data point, last week, and say QB Dak Prescott is struggling. However, if you look at even the game at Arizona two weeks prior, Prescott threw for 249 yards but only on 6.2 yards per attempt. If Prescott isn't on, the Chargers could have a chance to make things difficult for the Dallas offense.
Another matchup I'm looking at is a strong Los Angeles pass rush against this Dallas offensive line. The 49ers were able to get to Prescott four times last week and the Chargers' adjusted sack rate is even better, second best in the league. If the pass rushers for the Chargers are giving Prescott fits in the backfield, it could be a very long day. Given the difficulty the Cowboys have had on the west coast, the strength of the Charger offense and the ferocity of the pass rush, my best bet is backing the Chargers.
