NFL Monday Night Football Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks: Bills vs. Jets (Week 1)

Week 1 comes to a conclusion on Monday Night in an AFC East clash between the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.

Below, I will walk through my two best prop bets to make for MNF.

NFL Monday Night Football Player Prop Bets

Dalton Kincaid Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+410 via FanDuel)

A lot of hype surrounds the rookie tight end, who was selected with the 25th overall pick in the first round of this year’s draft. Over his final two years at Utah, Kincaid scored in 62% of his games.

There has been nothing but high praise for Kincaid from his teammates (notably Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs) throughout his first training camp – and while yes, his teammates are obviously not going to say anything bad about him, but they are specifically hyping up his route running and play making ability, which bodes well for this touchdown prop.

The Jets are likely to possess one of the best defenses in the league yet again this year, spearheaded by All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner. If Gardner helps limit the outside threat by shutting down Diggs, then there will be multiple times where Allen is forced to look elsewhere in the passing game.

We saw this play out time-and-again last season as the Jets surrendered the ninth most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends last season despite boasting an elite defense. Therefore, at over 4/1, let’s take a shot on Kincaid to have a successful debut.

James Cook Over 2.5 Receptions (+125 via PointsBet)

In a similar vein, let’s take a look at James Cook’s receptions prop.

Again, if Allen has to look elsewhere with the wide out position getting shut down, then it is not out of the question that he will dump it off a few times to Cook. While Cook is certainly not a traditional pass-catching back and will be primarily utilized in early-down situations, he is more than capable of hauling in just three passes.

His work load is going to be much heavier than last year as he is now the primary rusher on this roster, and there were multiple occasions (four) last season where Cook was targeted four or more times in a much more reduced role compared to what we are going to see on Monday.

At plus-money, it’s worth taking a shot that he’ll receive a few dump offs as a last-option from Allen against a difficult Jets secondary.
