NFL Monday Night Football Player Props (Week 11): Texans vs. Cowboys

The Houston Texans will look to bounce back after a brutal collapse against Detroit with a better matchup against the short-handed Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Monday Night Football to close out Week 11. C.J. Stroud and the Texans have lost three of their last four games outright, while the Cowboys have lost four straight entering tonight’s home game. QB Cooper Rush failed to get Dallas’ offense to 150 total yards in a 34-6 blowout loss to Philadelphia in Week 10, recording five turnovers and no touchdowns.

My NFL Monday Night Football Player Props (Week 10) picks went 0-2 despite Miami pulling off the road upset 23-15 against the Los Angeles Rams. Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa went 20-28 for 207 yards and a touchdown, falling short of 22 pass completions, while TE Jonnu Smith drew four targets but finished with three receptions, failing to cash over 3.5 receptions.

I’ve got two NFL Monday Night Football player props to bet on ahead of tonight’s matchup between the Texans and Cowboys. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more NFL free bets and weekly analysis.

NFL MNF Week 11 Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Joe Mixon O 20.5 Rush Attempts (-114)

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon is the definition of a workhorse, recording 21 or more carries in five of seven games this season. One of these games saw Mixon suffer a lower-body injury, cutting his playing time short against Chicago back in Week 2.

Since returning from injury, Mixon has gone over 20.5 rush attempts in four of five games, including four consecutive matchups. He only managed to get 46 rushing yards on 25 carries against the Lions in Week 10, but now, he’ll face one of the league’s worst run defenses. The Cowboys are giving up 4.7 YPC and 15 rushing touchdowns this season, both bottom-five metrics.

Mixon should get fed carries early and often and be much more productive on the ground on Monday night. Houston should be able to get an early lead and grind clock with Mixon as their primary force on offense, finishing with over 20.5 rush attempts for the fifth straight game in a plus-matchup against Dallas. Let’s stake one unit on Mixon to record over 20.5 rush attempts at -114 odds.

Jalen Tolbert O 2.5 Receptions (-118)

Jalen Tolbert has been consistent within Dallas’ offense, even with QB Cooper Rush struggling in Week 10. Tolbert benefits from coverage and attention being rolled to WR1 CeeDee Lamb, leading to the third-year wideout finishing with three or more receptions in eight consecutive games for the Cowboys.

Rush had a tough task against Philadelphia’s secondary in Week 10 but it should get a bit easier against Houston’s pass defense, which has allowed 21 receiving touchdowns, tied for third-most in the NFL. The Texans are good at limiting the net yards per pass attempt at 5.2, second-fewest in the league.

Instead of backing Tolbert’s receiving yards prop at 24.5, which he hasn’t hit in two consecutive games, we’re going to invest a unit on over 2.5 receptions at -118 odds.
