NFL Monday Night Football Player Props (Week 13): Browns vs. Broncos
The NFL concludes Thanksgiving weekend with an AFC interdivisional tilt between the 3-8 Cleveland Browns on the road against the 7-5 Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High on Monday Night Football. Rookie QB Bo Nix leads the Broncos into this matchup on a two-game winning streak against the Falcons and Raiders, while Browns QB Jameis Winston came away with another big divisional win at home in the snow over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Week 12.
Last week, my NFL Monday Night Football Player Props (Week 12) went 2-0 in a strong bounce-back effort from a 0-2 finish in Week 11. Chargers QB Justin Herbert continued to avoid throwing an interception to extend his streak at -108 odds and Ravens RB Derrick Henry racked up 24 carries to sail over 17.5 rush attempts at -128 odds during Baltimoreâs 30-23 win over Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium.
Iâve got two NFL Monday Night Football player props to bet on ahead of tonightâs matchup between the Browns and Broncos. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more NFL free bets and weekly analysis.
NFL MNF Week 13 Player Props
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Bo Nix O 220.5 Passing Yards (-110)
Bo Nix has taken charge of Denverâs offense within head coach Sean Paytonâs scheme and has rattled off a 7-3 record since starting 0-2. The 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Broncosâ rookie quarterback has thrown for over 220.5 passing yards in five of 12 games played this season, which includes four of the past five games.
Nix draws a favorable matchup against the Brownsâ secondary tonight and theyâll be without safety Juan Thornhill. Cleveland has allowed five of the past six quarterbacks faced to record at least 246 passing yards, which means Nix is in a great position to keep churning out production as a passer.
This line may be game script dependent, especially since the Browns are also struggling against the run. However, the Broncos have struggled to generate a competent running game lately, going under 80 total rushing yards against Kansas City and Las Vegas in two of their past three games. Jameis Winston will be airing it out all night despite a tough matchup against Denverâs secondary, which should force Nix to also be aggressive as a passer in a plus-matchup against a bottom-tier secondary.
Cleveland is allowing 6.7 net yards per pass attempt, tied for third-worst in the league, with most of this poor defense occurring within the past six weeks. Nix should finish with over 220.5 passing yards on Monday Night Football at home against a struggling Browns pass defense, especially since the Broncos are trying to stay alive in the AFC playoff hunt following the Chargersâ Week 13 win.
Letâs stake a unit on Nix to go over 220.5 passing yards for the third straight game in a favorable matchup against Cleveland.
Devaughn Vele O 38.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
Seventh-round rookie wideout Devaughn Vele has been one of Nixâs favorite targets in the Broncos offense this season. Vele is the WR2 behind Courtland Sutton, earning at least five targets, including nine against the Raiders last week, in back-to-back games.
After missing a four-week stretch earlier in the year, Vele has returned and made an immediate impact in Denverâs passing attack. The 6-5 wideout has recorded 39 or more receiving yards in five of eight games during his rookie campaign, including three consecutive games finishing over 38.5 receiving yards against the Chiefs, Falcons, and Raiders.
Weâve already analyzed how poorly Cleveland has been defending the pass, and with most of the coverage looking toward Courtland Sutton, expect Vele to get some valuable targets from Nix in open space. Denver needs to get this win for their AFC playoff aspirations and Vele is an integral piece of the Broncosâ passing attack. His rapport with Nix is evident and in an ideal matchup with a starting safety ruled out, Vele becomes even more appealing to back in the receiving yards betting market.
Letâs stake another unit on Vele to finish with over 38.5 receiving yards for the fourth consecutive game against the Browns on Monday Night Football.
