NFL Monday Night Football Player Props (Week 2)

Week 2 in the NFL concludes with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons. These two NFC opponents had drastically different outcomes during Week 1, as the new-look Falcons lost 18-10 at home against Pittsburgh despite scoring the game’s only touchdown. The Eagles came out of Brazil with a 34-29 win, erasing a two-point deficit at half-time behind a monster outing from newly acquired star running back, Saquon Barkley.

Now, the Eagles are back at Lincoln Financial Field for their home opener and will look to improve to 2-0 against Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. Atlanta’s defense didn’t give up a touchdown in Week 1. However, its offense struggled to move the football, recording 226 yards of total offense and committing three turnovers. This is why oddsmakers have set the point spread to -5.5 in favor of the Eagles at home, with a point total of 45.5.

I’ve got three player props to target for Monday Night Football after going 2-2 last week on NFL Monday Night Football Player Props (Week 1). Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more free bets and weekly analysis.

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Devonta Smith O 5.5 Total Receptions (-138)

I’d like this prop even without Eagles star wideout A.J. Brown playing, but since he’s ruled out, I’m even more bullish on Devonta Smith to go over his total receptions line at 5.5. Smith won the Heisman Trophy as a wide receiver at Alabama and his talent is undeniable at this point.

Smith hauled in seven receptions on eight targets against Green Bay, finishing with 7-84 during the Eagles’ Week 1 win. Even with Atlanta’s secondary focused on him without Brown, the defense still needs to account for Barkley and Hurts in the RPO, opening up plenty of opportunities in play action. George Pickens finished with six receptions against the Falcons last week, so let’s stake a unit on Smith to finish with six or more receptions during Philadelphia’s home opener.

Saquon Barkley O 76.5 Rushing Yards (-110)

Saquon Barkley wasted no time producing for his new team, racking up 24-109-2 on the ground against Green Bay, while scoring a third touchdown through the air as a receiver. We’re looking for Barkley to go over 76.5 total rushing yards against a Falcons run defense that just surrendered 70 rushing yards to Najee Harris and 57 rushing yards to Justin Fields.

All we need is one or two explosive plays with Barkley playing behind one of the league’s top offensive line units. This may hit before the fourth quarter even starts, so let’s stake another one-unit wager on the Eagles’ star running back to finish with 77+ rushing yards on Monday night.

Jalen Hurts Any Time TD Scorer (+105)

Last week, we tried a longshot on Jets wideout Mike Williams at +280 odds, but it didn’t work out. Now, we’re going to back one of the most consistent finishers in the red zone, Jalen Hurts, to score a touchdown against Atlanta on Monday Night Football.

Hurts didn’t score against Green Bay last week, botching an exchange at the goal-line late in the game that otherwise would’ve led to a touchdown run. Whether it’s via tush-push or a more traditional red zone designed run, Hurts will find the end zone against Atlanta tonight as a ball carrier.

+105 odds is only available due to Barkley’s dominance in Week 1 and Hurts failing to convert his lone attempt, so let’s stake one final unit on a Hurts any time touchdown scorer player prop against the Falcons, who just allowed Fields to gain 57 rushing yards in Week 1.
