The AFC playoff race isnât as wide open as the NFC, but a few contenders are looking for spots and seedings arenât set. Denver is holding onto that final Wild Card spot, but they have nothing secure. They host the Browns, who are coming off a big win against the Steelers. A win tonight would put them only two games behind the Broncos for the No. 7 seed. Cleveland Browns vs. Denver Broncos
- Leg 1: Broncos -6 (-115)
- Leg 2: Jerry Jeudy Over 59 Receiving Yards (-120)
- Leg 3: Bo Nix Over 19.5 Rushing Yards (-120)
The Broncos are one of the teams that have a chance to get into the playoffs with a rookie quarterback. People questioned Denver moving up in the draft to get Bo Nix, but it was the right decision. He's a potential Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate, as he's fifth in completions and 11th in passing yards. He's been especially hot recently, with at least 200 passing yards in five straight.
The offense is good, but the defense makes them a playoff contender. They are coming into this game, allowing the second-fewest points per game (16.8), but overall, they're an efficient defense. They're first in defensive expected points allowed (EPA) with a mark of -0.118 and third in success rate (39.7%).
If this were the Brownsâ offense from the beginning of the year you could say it would not be a problem, but they have been much better with Jameis Winston. They had never scored 20 points this season with Deshaun Watson, but they've done it twice with Winston. Cedric Tillman will not play due to a concussion, which makes it a prime opportunity for the Jerry Jeudy revenge game; he was traded to Cleveland from Denver during the offseason.
If the Browns had the same defense from last year, they could match up and make this a defensive battle. They've struggled this year and are 23rd in points allowed per game (24.3) and total yards (345.0).
The Brownsâ offense has been better with Winston as the starter, but the games theyâve covered with Winston under center have been against division opponents. The Broncosâ defense has held down better offenses, so theyâll get it done at home.
