AFC Championship TD Scorers Prop Bets: Bills vs. Chiefs
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Buffalo Bills First TD Scorer: James Cook (+430)
While the Bills have possible MVP winner Josh Allen under center, the team has built one of the top rushing attacks in the NFL. Buffalo scored 32 rushing touchdowns during the regular season, the most in the league. They were one of two teams with two players totaling 12+ rushing touchdowns. More importantly, James Cook led the NFL with 16 rushing touchdowns in 16 games after totaling four scores over his first two seasons.
The third-year pro accounted for seven of the Bills' first touchdowns during the regular season and their first score of the Wild Card Weekend matchup against the Denver Broncos. More importantly, Buffalo has focused on the run early in games this year. The first offensive touchdown scored by the Bills has been a rushing one in nine of their past 10 games, including by Cook in the Week 11 win over the Chiefs.
Kansas City Chiefs First TD Scorer: Xavier Worthy (+550)
Despite being a rookie wide receiver, Xavier Worthy has been Kansas City's best weapon in the passing game this season. The former Texas star started his career with a bang, totaling two touchdowns on three touches in his NFL debut, including the Chiefs' first score of the game. The explosive wide receiver led the team in receiving touchdowns (six) and offensive scores (nine), finishing second in rushing touchdowns (three) despite having only 20 attempts.
More importantly, Worthy had the first Kansas City touchdown in four games during the regular season, including the last one with Patrick Mahomes starting, recording a 10-yard score against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day. Furthermore, he scored the first Chiefs touchdown in the Week 11 loss to the Bills. Meanwhile, Buffalo has had issues with opposing passing attacks lately. The first touchdown scored against them was by a wide receiver in five of the past six games.
Anytime TD Scorer: Josh Allen (-115)
Josh Allen is arguably the NFL's top rushing quarterback. While Lamar Jackson can make highlight reel plays in the open field, Allen is a scoring machine near the goal line. The superstar had 12 rushing touchdowns during the regular season, his second consecutive year with double-digit scores. However, he put up those numbers despite James Cook leading the league with 16 rushing touchdowns this season. More importantly, Allen has been on fire lately.
Last week, the superstar had two rushing touchdowns in the win over the Baltimore Ravens. Allen has had at least one rushing touchdown in seven of his past nine games, totaling two or more in three contests. More importantly, he always scores a rushing touchdown when facing the Chiefs. Allen had a rushing touchdown in the Week 11 win. Furthermore, the superstar scored twice against Kansas City in last year's playoff matchup.
Anytime TD Scorer: Travis Kelce (+120)
Unfortunately, Travis Kelce has had back-to-back years with disappointing regular seasons. The future Hall of Famer has recorded fewer than 985 receiving yards in back-to-back years after totaling at least 1,125 in the previous five seasons, including over 1,300 three times. Furthermore, he has eight receiving touchdowns over the past two years after totaling a career-high 12 in 2022. More importantly, Kelce had arguably his worst performance of the season in the Week 11 loss.
Yet, the future Hall of Famer has been outstanding during the playoffs, especially when facing the Bills. Kelce had three receiving touchdowns in the postseason last year. More importantly, he had two receiving touchdowns in the Divisional Round win over Buffalo. Kelce has had at least one receiving touchdown in every playoff matchup against the Bills, including two scores twice. Meanwhile, Buffalo gave up a receiving touchdown to Isaiah Likely last week.
