NFL Preseason Week 2 Odds & Picks for Sunday

Ravens vs. Cardinals

This is easy. The Ravens don’t lose in the preseason. I’m not even kidding. After last week’s win over the Titans, the Ravens have now won 21 straight preseason games.

I’m not big on trends, but I had to mention it. It’s an absurd stat.

Anyway, we won’t be seeing Kyler Murray play for the Cardinals and we also won’t get to see Lamar Jackson with the Ravens tonight. However, the difference here is that Colt McCoy, the second-string quarterback for Arizona also isn’t likely to play. So with that said, we’ll be seeing Trace McSorely and Jared Guarantano for the second straight week. But if we’re being honest, both quarterbacks looked solid. They helped lead the Cardinals to a 36-23 win over Cincinnati.

On the other hand, the Ravens will rely on Anthony Brown, Tyler Huntley, and Brett Hundley as quarterbacks. Huntley went 16-for-18 from the field while Brown finished going 10-for-15 from the field. Each of those two quarterbacks earned over 100 yards passing in the game. Baltimore won’t have their top receivers for this game but other guys stepped up in the last game and should end up doing the same in this one.

The Ravens scored 23 in their first preseason win while the Cardinals tallied 36 points in their first preseason win. Both teams had a solid night of scoring and I think that continues into tonight’s game. Take the Over at 38.5.

Bet: Over 38.5

Bengals vs. Giants

Cincinnati will be looking for their first preseason win after losing to Arizona last week, 36-23. The defense only gave up 310 yards but still allowed 36 points to the Cardinals.

Tonight, they’ll take on a Giants team that likely won’t have the offensive output that Arizona did last week. The Giants defeated New England, 23-21, and won that game with solid defense. New York is still expected to start Daniel Jones as they continue to develop his game. He’ll be followed by Tyrod Taylor, who is looking to steal Jones’ starting job to start the season.

Meanwhile, Joe Burrow has already said that he’ll be out for every preseason game. That means we’ll see Brandon Allen, Jake Browning and Drew Plitt get some action under center. Allen has the most experience of the bunch but likely won’t get the most snaps of the bunch.

The reality is, that the Giants looked solid defensively, despite allowing a lot of passing yards to New England quarterbacks. New York has more skill and depth in the more important positions when it comes down to it. I’m going to ride with the Giants, at home, against the spread.

Bet: Giants -5.5

Eagles vs. Browns

The Philadelphia Eagles started the preseason with a loss against the New York Jets. Now they’ll be looking for their first win against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

The Eagles allowed Jalen Hurts to get a couple of drives before Gardner Minshew and Reid Sinnett took over. Sinnett led the team with 81 yards passing and a touchdown but ultimately was sacked three times. Currently, it’s unclear what the Eagles plan to do with their starters as Nick Sirianni has kept plans to himself. However, most teams have been playing their starters for an extended period of time in the second half of the season and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles do the same.

On the other hand, the Browns defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first game of the preseason. Joshua Dobbs did the most, going 10-for-13 from the field with 108 yards passing. Deshaun Watson started that game but will no longer play in the preseason after being suspended by the NFL for 11 games this season. The starter will instead be Jacoby Brissett, who will more than likely start the season for the Browns. Although Brissett will play, it seems like the Browns will be sitting more of their starters in this game. Therefore, I’m going to ride with the Eagles, on the road, to take this game by at least three.

Bet: Eagles -2.5
