NFL Preseason Week 3 Picks & Predictions
Jaguars vs. Falcons
The Jaguars are coming into this game as heavy favorites. Theyâve been outstanding in their first two preseason games, beating the Chiefs and Buccaneers each by 13 points. This has been spearheaded by strong performances from Mac Jones as the signal caller. Heâs been 25/38 with 308 yards, and heâs showcasing the confidence we saw in him during his rookie season. Next up is a Falcons team that has played really well defensively, allowing just 283 yards per game. However, theyâve struggled offensively, with just 12.5 points per game. This Jaguar defense has been stout, and I expect them to play just as well here in Week 3. If Mac Jones plays for the Jaguars, their offense should be strong again, but I think the Jaguars staff has seen nearly all they need from him. The scoring in this game should be few and far between, and both of these teams have played low-scoring preseason games all month. Iâll take the under.
Pick: Under 36 (-110)
- Ryan Rodeman
Dolphins vs. Buccaneers
The Dolphins traveled across the state earlier in the week to hold a joint practice with the Bucs before Fridayâs preseason finale. Unfortunately for Miami, head coach Mike McDaniel is juggling preparing his team for Week 1 of the regular season and keeping his stars healthy. The Dolphins are dealing with a lengthy list of minor injuries on the ballâs offensive side, which has prevented Tyreke Hill and Jaylen Waddle from seeing the field in game situations the first two weeks. McDaniel did say earlier in the week that the healthy starters will see some action against Tampa Bay this weekend but did not specify how much. The same can be said for the Bucs, as head coach Todd Bowles said the starters will see the field, and heâll pull them when he feels itâs time. That means a lot of work for the backups on both sidelines. Neither offense has put up more than 20 points in a game in the first two weeks of the preseason. Expect more of the same here, as both coaches will try to get to Week 1 as healthy as they can
Pick: Under 37.5 (-105)

49ers vs. Raiders
Despite completing less than fifty percent of his passes for 212 yards and one touchdown in two preseason games, Gardner Minshew was named the Week 1 starter for the Raiders by head coach Antonio Pierce this week. Pierce has said he is leaning towards resting all of his projected starters on both sides of the ball for the final tune-up of the year. That means second-year backup Aidan OâConnell will see most of the snaps for Las Vegas against the visiting 49ers. On the other hand, San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan intends to roll his starters out in somewhat of a âdress rehearsalâ for their Week 1 matchup against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. That means Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffery, and company will get reps against the Raiderâs second and third-string defenders. The line has already moved a full point in San Franciscoâs direction, and for good reason.
Pick: 49ers -6.5 (-105)
