NFL Playoffs TD Scorers Picks: Eagles vs. Chiefs (Super Bowl LIX)

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Saquon Barkley Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-195)

OK, this is a bit of a “gimme,” but hey, the goal is to win wagers.

We all know how phenomenal Saquon Barkley has been this season - 345 carries for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns in 16 games - and he’s been equally as impressive in the postseason.

Through three games, he has 66 carries for 442 yards and five touchdowns.

He’s posted all five scores in the last two games. He could’ve scored in the Wild Card round against the Green Bay Packers but opted to slide and let the clock run out.

In the Super Bowl, he’ll take on a Chiefs defense that’s allowed three rushing touchdowns in the playoffs, including two to Buffalo in the Conference Championship. They’ve also allowed at least 107 rushing yards in each game.

Barkley will score and push for Super Bowl MVP.

DeVonta Smith Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+245)

The Chiefs have some excellent secondary players, such as cornerback Trent McDuffie and safety Justin Reid. However, DeVonta Smith will have a winnable matchup against Chamarri Conner in the slot.

Conner has allowed 57 catches on 67 targets for 552 yards and two touchdowns this season. He allowed a touchdown in Week 18. In the divisional round, he surrendered three catches for 52 yards.

He hasn’t given up many touchdowns, but he hasn’t played against many receivers of Smith’s talent.

Smith has seen four targets in three straight playoff games but hasn’t scored since his double-digit touchdown game in Week 17.

Smith is in a good spot to score in a winnable matchup with McDuffie potentially facing A.J. Brown.

The only thing to worry about is the passing volume from quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Isiah Pacheco Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+265)

This one is a bit of a longshot, given the ability Isiah Pacheco has shown throughout his career, but I’m willing to roll the dice.

He’s had just 10 carries through two playoff games, but I’m curious if this was a way to get him more touches and keep him fresh ahead of the Super Bowl.

There are certainly a lot of red flags, though. In addition to the lack of carries, he’s averaging just three yards per carry this postseason. He averaged just 3.7 yards per tote in the regular season.

Pacheco did suffer a pretty significant injury, so his lack of production is understandable. However, if the Chiefs want to win this game, they’ll have to successfully run the ball because the Eagles’ pass defense ranked as the best in the league during the regular season, allowing fewer than 175 yards per game.

The Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes will certainly pass with more success than most teams, but this is a tough matchup.

Look for Pacheco to get some carries in the red zone and pound one in.
