Thursday's Best NFL Player Prop Bets: Bears vs. Lions
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Jared Goff Under 21.5 Completions (-125)
The Lions are coming into this game as the best offense in the league scoring 32.7 points per game. What makes them so good is that they can beat you through the air or ground. They are fourth in rushing yards per game (150.8) and sixth in passing yards per game (243.5).
They are one of the few teams that could lean heavily to one side and still win, which is what they'll do in this game. Detroit might lean away from the pass like a lot of teams are doing against the Bears and attack through the ground. The Bears are sixth in pass completions allowed per game (18.5) and second in the last three (17.0). Don't look for Jared Goff to throw much.
Caleb Williams Under 229.5 Passing Yards (+100)
We thought that with Aiden Hutchinson gone, the whole defense would regress for the Lions, but that hasn't happened. In their last five games, they've allowed 12.6 points per game. In that same span, they are third in dropback success rate (39.9%).
Caleb Williams has had highs and lows in his rookie year. He is coming off a 340-yard passing performance against Minnesota, but the Bears suffered their fifth straight loss. Do not expect an encore against Detroit, who haven't allowed a 200-yard passer in their last three games.
Jahmyr Gibbs Over 73.5 Rushing Yards (-120)
David Montgomery Over 53.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
We must focus on their running backs if we expect the Lions to go heavier on the run. Last year, Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery were very close to each rushing for 1,000 yards, but Gibbs was 55 shy. Gibbs is at 886 and Montgomery is at 632 this season, so it's possible they could be just the third halfback duo and the first since 2009 to rush for 1,000 yards each.
You should feel comfortable betting on their rushing props, so we have two against a Chicago run defense ranked 20th in rushing yards allowed per game (129.7). Their 4.8 yards allowed per carry are the fourth-most.
