All that said, I don't know how you can bet the New York Jets with any type of trust. This is a football team that is just finding ways to lose football games despite adding star receiver Davante Adams. Additionally, Jets QB Aaron Rodgers appears to be frustrated with the direction of the offense and I don't see how it gets resolved on a short week against a good Texans football team.
As for the Texans, like I mentioned, they're banged up on offense. Nico Collins has an injury and Stefon Diggs is out for the season with a torn ACL. The Texans do have Tank Dell and Dalton Schultz as their two most reliable pass catchers this week. That leads me to Schultz being someone worth starting in not just fantasy football but also worth betting on for this game.
Over the last three weeks, the Jets have given up 21 receptions on 25 targets to tight ends. That resulted in 210 receiving yards and one touchdown. If you look at Schultz over the course of this season, he's recorded 23 receptions for 223 yards. But over the last four weeks, he's started to become targeted more consistently.
During those four games, Schultz has seen 22 targets and it resulted in 13 receptions for 141 yards. Now, Schultz has not recorded a touchdown yet this season but he did have 5 touchdowns for the Texans last season. If there's a time where you should trust him, this would be the time. It's a long shot compared to other players but give me Schultz to score and the Texans to pull off a win against the Jets this week.
