NFL Thursday Night Football Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks: Broncos vs. Chiefs (Week 6)

We get an AFC West showdown for the Thursday night matchup. The Chiefs offense has not been as dangerous as in previous years, but champions find ways to win, and they’ve won four straight. The arrival of Sean Payton has not helped the Broncos as it looks like another rough season as they sit in last in the division.

Let’s look at who could find the end zone tonight.

NFL Thursday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Rashee Rice (+190)

Patrick Mahomes trusts the rookie receiver, as he’s second on the team in targets and catches. There’s confidence with hands thanks to the 8.3% drop rate, so Mahomes has given him six red zone targets.  Denver is allowing the third-most receiving touchdowns to the position this year, and Rice should get some opportunities tonight.

Jaleel McLaughlin (+215)

Jaleel McLaughlin is coming in as the Broncos’ leading rusher and has an impressive 7.3 yards per carry. Even with Javonte Williams returning this week, McLaughlin has earned his snaps, and we should see him get opportunities in the backfield. He’s also gotten the second-most carries inside the red zone and has the only red zone rushing touchdown for the Broncos.

Jerick McKinnon (+265)

Isaiah Pacheco is the lead running back, but Andy Reid uses McKinnion in many other ways. He gets snaps in the backfield, but they also like to use him in the passing game, and he has nine catches out of 11 targets. McKinnon’s efficiency seems to come in the red zone, and the Broncos have allowed the most receiving touchdowns to the running back.

Russell Wilson (+750)

One thing Russell Wilson can still do is take off when there isn’t a receiver open. We might see the pocket breakdown a lot for him, where he has to take off. The Chiefs are fifth in blitz percentage and the same in quarter pressure percentage. In the red zone, he could try to take one in if a play breaks down.
