Detroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs

Does the possibility of not having Travis Kelce hurt the world champions? You can't deny that Kelce is the best tight end in the game, and Patrick Mahomes has highly benefitted from having him as an option. You also see that Mahomes is still one of the more creative and instinctual quarterbacks and has been able to elevate the players around him. He can make the adjustments, and with the spread continually dropping, it just makes it a better number for the Chiefs to cover.

These teams were one of the best scoring offenses in the league last year, and both scoring defenses were below league average. Kansas City will be without their best defensive player DT Chris Jones, and this will help the Detroit offensive line give time to Jared Goff and this offense to move down the field. The Lions had one of the worst passing defenses last season, but they did make some upgrades by signing Cameron Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley. However, Moseley will miss this game with an injury. Mahomes has carved up the best in the league, and he should give his team plenty of scoring opportunities.

Two outstanding offenses but lesser defenses mean this could be more of a back-and-forth game. That means we should see each offense get a good number of possessions, which will keep the playbook open for Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense. He will have plenty of pass attempts in this game and the opportunity to go over this prop.
