NFL Thursday Night Football Same Game Parlay (Week 16): Saints vs. Rams

The Holiday football schedule begins Thursday Night as the Saints travel to Los Angeles to take on Matthew Stafford and the Rams.

Both teams enter Week 16 with a 7-7 record and fight for playoff positioning. While these two teams battle it out on the field, let’s see if you can take advantage and cash in on a same-game parlay!

Best Rams vs. Saints Same Game Parlay

Leg 1: Kyren Williams 50+ Rushing Yards

The Saints have one of the better defenses in the NFL, coming in with the third-best EPA/play and Success Rate. However, where they can be left vulnerable is in the run game. New Orleans has allowed 93 yards per game to opposing RBs, which is 16th in the league, so about league average.

Kyren Williams has been the Ram’s go-to RB and has hit 50+ yards in seven straight games. I’d expect a heavy workload from Williams in tonight’s game.

Leg 2: Taysom Hill Over 18.5 Rushing Yards

Taysom Hill has been hurt the past two games, and people tend to forget he received 41 rushing attempts over five games before his injury. He hit the over in four of those five games, averaging 41.2 rushing yards per game.

Leg 3: Rashid Shaheed 25+ Receiving Yards

A lot of attention will be on Chris Olave as he is expected to return to the field after nursing an ankle injury. Olave leads the Saints in targets (116), and Shaheed is the next man up in the receiver room (59). The Rams have been average at best in defending the pass; in fact, PFF has the Rams with the second-worst coverage grade (52.6) in the NFL. Only Denver is graded worse.

Rashid Shaheed has hit the 25-yard mark 8 of 12 games this season, a 67% hit rate.

Leg 4: Derek Carr 225+ Passing Yards

As mentioned above, the Rams’ secondary is not great, and while Derek Carr has been highly inconsistent in his first year with the Saints, this should set up a good matchup for him.

The Saints are 4-point underdogs and should have to throw the ball more often than to keep up with the Rams’ offense. I think the Saints have the opportunity to keep this game close and have a great shot to upset the Rams. For that to happen, Carr and the Saints’ offense will have to be on point, and points will have to be put on the board.

Derek Carr has hit 225 passing yards in 50% of games this season.
