NFL Thursday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Picks: Giants vs. 49ers (Week 3)

The 49ers are looking poised to get back to the NFC Champions, as they’ve looked great in the first two games. The Giants had an amazing second-half comeback but in the process, lost their star running back Saquon Barkley and starting left tackle Andrew Thomas. It will be tough for the G-Men to win in The Bay, but let’s see if they have another miracle in them.

Let’s look at some guys who could find the end zone tonight.

NFL Thursday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

First Touchdown

Christian McCaffrey (+260)

Christian McCaffrey has been a great fit since coming to San Francisco, and Kyle Shanahan finally has his feature back. He’s averaging an incredible 134 yards and a touchdown this season as the 49ers are the only undefeated team in the NFC West. The Giants have struggled so far on defense, allowing 67 points, and they haven’t done well against the run, allowing three touchdowns to running backs this year.

Anytime Touchdown

George Kittle (+180)

Kittle has been quiet so far this season, but there’s a potential for a breakout game this week. Linebacker is one of the Giants’ weaker positions on defense, and they’ve already allowed the third-most targets (19) to tight end. The status of Brandon Aiyuk is in the air, and if he doesn’t suit up, then Kittle should be a prime target.

Daniel Jones (+230)

After a rough first six quarters of the season, Jones was much better in the second half against the Cardinals, which led to a 21-point comeback. Not having Saquon Barkley in the lineup will be difficult, so I expect a lot of design QB runs and him running the ball on his own. If the Giants get to the red zone, Jones will have no problem taking it to the end zone.

Jalin Hyatt (+750)

Hyatt made some electric plays in the preseason and had a big catch against the Cardinals last week. Jones has looked to him for the long ball, and this is a good spot for him to hit one. The 49ers have allowed nearly a ten percent higher rate of completions outside of the numbers than the league average. Hyatt will get some shots for a big play in this game.
