NFL Thursday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Picks: Vikings vs. Eagles (Week 2)

We have a rematch from Week 2 of last year, as the Vikings and Eagles will meet again in primetime. This was an easy win for Philadelphia as they cruised to a 24-7 victory. That was on the road, so will they have even better success in Philly?

Let's look at some players who could find the end zone tonight.

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Jalen Hurts (-115)

Hurts has established himself as one of the best-running quarterbacks and led the league in designed QB runs. He has no problem calling his own number, as he was fourth in carries inside the 20 and second inside the five. Last season, the Vikings gave up four rushing touchdowns to quarterbacks, half of which were from Hurts.

Justin Jefferson (+115)

Jefferson did not find the end zone despite having 150 yards, but I think he does in this one. As much talent as the Eagles have in their secondary, they are vulnerable to giving up touchdowns, as they allowed the fifth-most to wide receivers last season.

DeVonta Smith (+145)

The Vikings had one of the worst passing offenses last season, and looking at their performance against the Buccaneers, it isn't any better. Last year, Minnesota was so fixated on stopping A.J. Brown that it allowed Smith to catch all seven of his targets for 80 yards. He didn’t score last year, but that will change in this one.

Jordan Addison (+210)

Justin Jefferson got his yards last week, but Addison found paydirt. The rookie has an opportunity to have a phenomenal first season on the other side of JJ. Extremely athletic and quick, and with Jefferson drawing multiple defenders, this gives Addison the matchups where he can find the end zone.

Dallas Goedert (+215)

It was a disappointing last week for Goedert, who had a string of goose eggs in the stat line. I expect a much better game from him tonight against the Vikings defense. Goedert is a trusting tight end to throw to, especially in the red zone, as he led the team in red zone catch percentage last year. Hurts just has to put it near his hands, and he’ll grab it.
