NFL Thursday Night Football Touchdown Scorers: Broncos vs. Saints

Sean Payton returns to New Orleans for the first time in what might not be a warm homecoming. It could be because the Saints have not been a good team since he left. While the team started with two blowout wins, they quickly plummeted after losing four straight. Several important offensive players, including Derek Carr, Rashid Shaheed, and Taysom Hill, will be out against Payton’s Broncos, who have won three of their last four.

We’ll look at some players who could find the end zone tonight.

Thursday's Best NFL Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Alvin Kamara – First Touchdown Scorer (+425)

Last week, Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak drew up plays that would best help Spencer Rattler acclimate to the offense. The plays involve a lot of quick and shorter throws to move the ball.

Kamara is one of the best pass-catching backs in the league and has 40+ receiving yards in four of his last five games. The Broncos have allowed three rushing touchdowns to running backs and two receiving touchdowns. New Orleans will let Kamara try to be a playmaker in the red zone.

Bo Nix – Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+255)

One of Nix’s strengths is his ability to use his legs. In four seasons at Auburn and Oregon, he had 38 rushing touchdowns, and this year, he leads the Broncos with three.

Denver will play a lot of RPO to keep the Saints off guard, and he often tucks it run in those situations.

Courtland Sutton – Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+195)

When he does pass, he's been looking for Sutton. His eight red zone targets are more than all the other Broncos receivers combined. He’s the most experienced receiver of this group and has been through a few different eras in this organization and he’s finally being utilized.

New Orleans’ defense was fantastic in the first couple of weeks, but they’ve been just as big of a reason for the recent losing streak. The secondary has been getting torched, as they've allowed the fifth-most catches and receiving yards to the position.
