NFL Week 1 Confidence Pool Advice, Picks & Predictions (2023)

Everyone gets a fresh start in Week 1! While the NFL season is over four months long, it pays to begin the year strong.

Here are my NFL Confidence Pool picks for Week 1:

NFL Confidence Pool Picks

(1) Jets | Bills vs. Jets

The Jets hype is real. Last season, New York went 1-1 against the Bills with Zach Wilson under center. Now they’ve got Aaron Rodgers.

(2) Giants | Cowboys vs. Giants

The Giants have struggled against the Dallas Cowboys over the last few seasons. But, like the Jets, there’s new hope for the Giants.

(3) Packers | Packers vs. Bears

Jordan Love is taking over in Green Bay. Who knows what to expect? However, the Bears’ offense won’t be any better than last year if Justin Fields isn’t more accurate.

(4) Falcons | Falcons vs. Panthers

I’ll take the second-year quarterback over the first-year quarterback. Atlanta’s offensive playmakers will be too much for the Panthers to handle.

(5) Dolphins | Dolphins vs. Chargers

A healthy Tua Tagovailoa is everything for this Miami Dolphins team. As long as he’s out on the field, the Dolphins will be incredibly hard to beat.

(6) 49ers | 49ers vs. Steelers

These are two teams that always find ways to win. It’ll be a close matchup, but I’ll give the upper hand to the 49ers in this game.

(7) Bengals | Bengals vs. Browns

Joe Burrow will likely start at quarterback for the Bengals despite his calf injury. Meanwhile, the Browns’ offense still resembles last year’s team. Deshaun Watson threw a career-low 58.2% completion percentage when he returned to the field.

(8) Saints | Saints vs. Titans

The Saints won’t have Alvin Kamara on the field. However, this year, newcomers like Derek Carr and Jamaal Williams should help exploit Tennessee’s defense.

(9) Broncos | Raiders vs. Broncos

Denver’s offense will improve under Sean Payton this season. Meanwhile, the defense should ride out momentum from last year’s team.

(10) Chiefs | Lions vs. Chiefs

The Lions will do big things this year. Except, the secondary will be a weakness. Even if the Chiefs play without Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes will dominate in the passing game.

(11) Vikings | Vikings vs. Buccaneers

Tampa Bay is relying on Baker Mayfield at quarterback. They also have many undrafted free agents on the roster. I’m all over the Vikings here.

(12) Commanders | Cardinals vs. Commanders

I’m one of the few who think Sam Howell will have a breakthrough season in year no. 2 with the Commanders. He has a ton of talent around him to be successful.

(13) Seahawks | Rams vs. Seahawks

The Rams will likely be without Cooper Kupp to begin the season, as he’s dealing with a hamstring injury. Without Kupp, the offense will be in shambles.

(14) Ravens | Texans vs. Ravens

It’ll be C.J. Stroud’s first game as quarterback for the Texans. There will be some growing pains, especially against a dominant Baltimore defense.

(15) Eagles | Eagles vs. Patriots

Who will the Patriots throw the ball to when they’re down multiple scores? Your guess is my best guess.

(16) Jaguars| Jaguars vs. Colts

Stop the hype with Anthony Richardson. He was inaccurate in college and will be inaccurate in the pros.
