Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons (-3.5), Total 39.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

Panthers rookie QB Bryce Young opens his NFL career where he played several meaningful college games under controlled conditions in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.


Cincinnati Bengals (-1.5) at Cleveland Browns, Total 47.5

Forecast: 72 degrees, 25% chance of rain

Wind speed: 10-11 MPH

The Bengals have the highest-paid QB in the NFL now, and he’ll open the season with slightly breezy conditions in the Battle of Ohio.


Jacksonville Jaguars (-4.5) at Indianapolis Colts, Total 46.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence and the defending AFC South champs open with perfect indoor conditions in Indianapolis against rookie QB Anthony Richardson.


Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Minnesota Vikings (-5.5), Total 46

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome

QB Baker Mayfield makes his Buccaneers debut in the Twin Cities, while new starting Vikings RB Alexander Mattison looks to get off to a hot start.


Tennessee Titans at New Orleans Saints (-3), Total 41.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome

The Titans and Saints battle for southern bragging rights, with Saints QB Derek Carr making his team debut.


San Francisco 49ers (-2.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers, Total 41.5

Forecast: 75 degrees, 60% chance of rain/thunderstorms

Wind speed: 3-4 MPH

It could be a slow track in the Steel City with rain and thunderstorms in the forecast. The passing could be limited, with more of a ground-based attack for both squads.


Arizona Cardinals at Washington Commanders (-7), Total 38.5

Forecast: 85 degrees, 70% chance of rain

Wind speed: 8-10 MPH

These teams should kick off under cloudy conditions before rain showers roll in for the second half. Things could get hairy with thunderstorms before the game concludes.


Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears (-1.5), Total 41.5

Forecast: 74 degrees, 5% chance of rain

Wind speed: 9-11 MPH

Packers QB Jordan Love begins a new era for the organization against the team’s most heated rival in Chitown.


Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos (-3.5), Total 43.5

Forecast: 69 degrees, 15% chance of rain

Wind speed: 8-10 MPH

There are isolated thunderstorms in the forecast for the late afternoon, and we could potentially see weather move into the front range by the fourth quarter. It should be mostly fine, though.


Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers (-3), Total 50.5

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

Even if the game were outside in sunny Los Angeles, the conditions would be optimal for football.


Philadelphia Eagles (-4) at New England Patriots, Total 45

Forecast: 79 degrees, 60% chance of rain

Wind speed: 9-11 MPH

We could see a steady rainfall from beginning to end. It won’t likely be torrential downpours, but it could also be more of a ground-based attack if the field conditions get too sloppy.


Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks (-4.5), Total 46.5

Forecast: 77 degrees, 10% chance of rain

Wind speed: 6-8 MPH

Normally, the weather in the Pacific Northwest can be hairy, but the conditions couldn’t be any more picture-perfect for this NFC West showdown to open the campaign.


Dallas Cowboys (-3.5) at New York Giants, Total 45.5

Forecast: 74 degrees, 70% chance of rain

Wind speed: 4-6 MPH

These bitter NFC East rivals open the new campaign in the Meadowlands on “Sunday Night Football,” and we could see a deluge at times, which could favor the ground game.


Buffalo Bills (-2.5) at New York Jets, Total 45.5

Forecast: 75 degrees, 20% chance of rain

Wind speed: 2-4 MPH

Weather might bother the afternoon commute, but the inclement conditions should pull out in time to provide a dry track for “Monday Night Football” and the team debut of Jets QB Aaron Rodgers.
