NFL Top Early Week Picks (Week 10)

New England Patriots vs. Chicago Bears
The New England Patriots are only 2-7. However, rookie Drake Maye is finally showing some poise under center for the Patriots. Heâll get an opportunity to face the No. 1 overall pick, Caleb Williams, which should motivate him a little more.
Ultimately, the Patriots lost on the road in overtime last week to the Tennessee Titans. But Mayeâs play as time expired was still the weekâs highlight. Thatâll give him some confidence heading into the week. Donât expect the Patriots to dominate offensively. But if Maye can take care of the ball and play complementary football against the Bears, the Patriots could sneak out of Chicago with a win.
The Bears are only 4-4. Theyâve lost two consecutive games and have scored no more than 15 points in either game. Thereâs no reason, even at home, the Bears should be 6.5-point underdogs. New England has kept games close, and Chicago has struggled to score points consistently.
Iâll gladly take the Patriots at +6.5 (-108) in this one.
Pick: Patriots +6.5 (-108)
Jets vs. Cardinals
The New York Jets scored 21 points in last weekâs Thursday Night Football win over the Houston Texans. The Jets had another touchdown earlier in the game, but Malachi Corley dropped the ball before reaching the endzone. Put that aside, and the Jets wouldâve had 28 points against Houstonâs defense.
New York hasnât been perfect. However, the offense should continue to find success against Arizonaâs defense. The Cardinals have still allowed 25.63 points per game, including 140.88 yards on the ground. Look for the Jets to find success rushing the football, and thatâll open things up for Aaron Rodgers and the passing game.
On the other hand, the Jetsâ defense is nothing like it was last season. The secondary is still their strong area. However, the run defense has allowed 132.44 yards per game. Arizona has already watched James Conner earn 664 yards rushing and Kyler Murray chip in with another 350 yards rushing.
The Cardinals should have no problems getting down the field against the Jets, especially at home. After all, New York has still allowed more than 20 points per game this season.
New York has missed countless tackles. The Jets also havenât been incredible as a pass rush unit. Overall, the Jets were much better last week. However, as a large sample size, the Jets have been weak in most areas defensively.
Letâs take the Over 45 in this one.
Pick: Over 45 (-112)
