NFL Week 13 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions (2023)

Week 13 of the 2023 NFL regular season is here, and Mother Nature will affect games more than perhaps any weekend of the season so far. We have 12 games remaining on the schedule between Sunday and Monday, with just three games under controlled environmental conditions.

We have four games with greater than a 40% chance of precipitation, so be prepared for some slop. After all, it is December, so that’s to be expected.

We have a primetime game in Green Bay, too, which weather could easily affect, while “Monday Night Football” returns to Jacksonville, and that game should have decent weather. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants are on their bye weeks.

Let’s look at the Week 13 weather report.

NFL Week 13 Weather Report

All forecasts courtesy of AccuWeather.com

Los Angeles Chargers (-5.5) at New England Patriots, Total 40.5

Forecast: 47 degrees, 95% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 7-9 MPH

The Chargers step outdoors and into the elements in New England. We’ll have a steady rain for most, if not all, of the game, with a pretty steady breeze and temperatures in the upper 40s, quite the opposite of SoFi Stadium.

Detroit Lions (-4.5) at New Orleans Saints, Total 46.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Lions and Saints do battle under the roof in NOLA and needn’t worry about the ugly weather all around the country.

Atlanta Falcons (-1.5) at New York Jets, Total 33.5

Forecast: 50 degrees, 90% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 6-8 MPH

We’ll have a steady shield of rain in the New York area for most of the afternoon. The passing games likely weren’t going to be in play much anyway, but the weather should limit these offenses to a more ground-oriented attack.

Arizona Cardinals at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5), Total 41.5

Forecast: 56 degrees, 50% chance of showers

Wind speed: 9-13 MPH

The weather is going to be awfully ugly in the Steel City, as showers will not only be falling for a majority of the game but there will be a stiff breeze affecting the passing and kicking games.

Indianapolis Colts (-1.5) at Tennessee Titans, Total 42.5

Forecast: 58 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 9-12 MPH

There is only a slight chance of showers in the Music City, but wind could be a factor, gusting up to 15 mph at times.

Miami Dolphins (-9.5) at Washington Commanders, Total 49.5

Forecast: 58 degrees, 25% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 4-6 MPH

The showers could be a little more intermittent in the nation’s capital, and the wind won’t be as much of a factor. The passing games might be OK.

Denver Broncos at Houston Texans (-3), Total 47.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Broncos and Texans will be lucky to be indoors, playing with a dry, fast track and in controlled environmental conditions.

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5), Total 36.5

Forecast: 81 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 6-8 MPH

It will be rather toasty in Tampa, and showers are expected to move out of the area and not be much of a factor outside of a possible stray shower. Wind also won’t factor in much.

San Francisco 49ers (-3) at Philadelphia Eagles, Total 47.5

Forecast: 52 degrees, 40% chance of showers

Wind speed: 4-7 MPH

We get a late-window marquee game for the second consecutive week in the City of Brotherly Love. We also get a rain game for the second straight week, as it will be awfully sloppy in Philadelphia again.

Cleveland Browns at Los Angeles Rams (-3.5), Total 40.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Browns are forced to use QB Joe Flacco for this game out on the left coast. At least the conditions will be fine, with no wind or rain under the roof.

Kansas City Chiefs (-6) at Green Bay Packers, Total 42.5

Forecast: 31 degrees, 15% chance of snow

Wind speed: 6-9 MPH

The Green Bay area is expecting temperatures around freezing, with about two inches of snow during the afternoon. The snow is likely to pull out before game time, although there is a slight chance of light snow or flurries. It shouldn’t be too terrible, though.

Cincinnati Bengals at Jacksonville Jaguars (-8.5), Total 38.5

Forecast: 64 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 5-8 MPH

The Jaguars are back on “Monday Night Football” for the first time since 2011, ending the NFL’s longest drought. The weather conditions in Duval County will be optimal.
