NFL Week 14 Early Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

There are many lopsided sides in this week’s NFL slate. Is there a lot of overreaction heading into Week 14?

I’ve got some answers. Here are two bets to consider for this week’s NFL slate.

Early NFL Week 14 Best Bets

All wagers are 1 unit.

New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Thursday Night Football games aren’t always the most exciting matchups.

This one is similar.

It’s the Patriots against the Steelers. These two teams combined for ten points against the Chargers and Cardinals last week.

Los Angeles has been known for allowing a hefty amount of yards per game. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have performed below average defensively throughout the season.

But the Patriots and Steelers couldn’t find ways to score last week.

Kenny Pickett has a high ankle sprain that should keep him out of Thursday’s game. It’ll be Mitch Trubisky moving forward. On the other hand, the Patriots don’t have a quarterback they can trust. Maybe it’s time to roll with Malik Cunningham. But for now, Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe aren’t the answers for this offense.

The Under is the most appealing for this primetime Thursday night matchup.

Bet: Under 32 (-110)

Houston Texans vs. New York Jets

The Texans won’t have Tank Dell anymore. He’s out for the remainder of the season with a fractured fibula.

That’s going to hurt the Texans. But for this game against the Jets, it won’t affect Houston as much. Sauce Gardner would’ve done great work against Dell. He only allowed one catch for a couple of yards last week against the Falcons.

The Jets pass defense is one of the best in the NFL. However, the New York offense hasn’t scored more than 13 points in each of their last six games. Ironically enough, the Jets scored 20 against the Eagles in a win before the six-game losing streak.

We don’t know where the Jets will go from here. At 4-8, it’s unlikely we’ll see Aaron Rodgers this year. However, this year, Zach Wilson has provided more offense than Tim Boyle or Trevor Semien. Maybe Semien will get a crack at it on Sunday. Boyle was benched for Semien last week, but Semien didn’t do any better.

On the other hand, the Texans’ defense shut down the Broncos and held them to 17 points in a tight 22-17 win. Houston has won four of their last five games and has allowed no more than 17 points in two of their previous three games.

The Jets-Texans total is even higher than Thursday Night. But the Jets have more safties than touchdowns in the first quarter this season. Don’t count on the Jets to do much scoring.

We’ll grab the Under 36.5.

Bet: Under 36.5 (-110)
