NFL Week 14 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions (2023)

Week 14 of the 2023 NFL regular season is here, and most of the eastern third of the country will be dealing with wet weather in some capacity. It should make for some interesting games on Sunday along the Eastern Seaboard, although Monday will see improving conditions for the pair of games. In addition, five of the 12 games on Sunday will be indoors, so while the weather outside might be frightful, inside it will be delightful. Yes, I sung that sentence, too.

We’re almost done with the bye weeks, too, although the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders are off this week. After this weekend, it’s back to a full slate of games for all 32 teams.

Let’s look at the Week 14 weather report.

NFL Week 14 Weather Report

All forecasts courtesy of AccuWeather.com

Jacksonville Jaguars at Cleveland Browns (-3), Total 32.5

Forecast: 42 degrees, 95% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 12-15 MPH

The Jaguars travel north to battle the Browns, and the conditions will be awful. Temperatures will barely get into the 40’s, with a near 100% chance of a steady, cold rain. The winds will be howling off of Lake Erie anywhere from 12-15 mph sustained, with occasional gusts up to 20 mph. The passing and kicking games will be hindered quite a bit.

Los Angeles Rams at Baltimore Ravens (-7.5), Total 40.5

Forecast: 64 degrees, 90% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 11-13 MPH

The Rams won’t like going to Charm City for this one. The temperatures will be pretty warm for Baltimore at this time of year, but there will be a steady rain with plenty of wind.

Detroit Lions (-3) at Chicago Bears, Total 43.5

Forecast: 37 degrees, 5% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 12-15 MPH

The weather will have pulled out of the Second City by the time of kickoff, but the cold temperatures will have moved in. And we’ll have a very cold wind blowing at Soldier Field, too.

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints (-5.5), Total 37.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

This NFC South battle will take place in the Big Easy under the dome, so Mother Nature can’t bug these teams here.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons (-2.5), Total 40.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

In the other NFC South battle in Hotlanta, they’ll also be inside the friendly confines of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, so no weather worries here, either.

Indianapolis Colts at Cincinnati Bengals (-1.5), Total 43.5

Forecast: 40 degrees, 25% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 10-12 MPH

The precipitation is mostly going to be out of the area by kickoff, although a stray shower cannot be ruled out. The wind might wreak havoc for the passing and kicking games, however.

Houston Texans (-3.5) at New York Jets, Total 33.5

Forecast: 58 degrees, 90% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 9-12 MPH

If you’ve followed along this season, it seems that MetLife Field in East Rutherford, N.J. has really dealt with quite a bit of rain. I haven’t focused on the rest of the week, but it seems Sundays and Mondays have seen a lot of rain in the NYC Metro area this season.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers (-10.5), Total 46.5

Forecast: 61 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 4-7 MPH

The West Coast has also certainly dealt with its fair share of precipitation in the past week, but conditions will be glorious in the Bay Area for some afternoon football on Sunday. No concerns here.

Minnesota Vikings (-1.5) at Las Vegas Raiders, Total 40.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Vikings and Raiders will be sheltered from the elements at Allegiant Stadium, although the weather would be just fine if they were outdoors, with temperatures around 50 degrees.

Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5), Total 43.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Broncos are back inside for the second consecutive weekend with controlled environmental conditions, this time against an AFC West Division foe in Southern California.

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5), Total 48.5

Forecast: 41 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 7-9 MPH

The Bills and Chiefs hook up in a marquee AFC battle at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Mother Nature will cooperate, with balmy temperatures and no chance of rain.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (-3.5), Total 51.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

We have a great matchup for “Sunday Night Football” between these heated NFC East rivals, and there will be no weather concerns with the game indoors at Jerry World. The Eagles are still drying out from the past two games outside in the drenching rain in Philly.

Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins (-13.5), Total 46.5

Forecast: 64 degrees, 10% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 11-13 MPH

The weather is actually a little on the brisk side for December football in Miami. We have a chance of a stray shower, and the wind will actually make it feel pretty cool by South Florida standards.

Green Bay Packers (-5.5) at New York Giants, Total 37.5

Forecast: 38 degrees, 10% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 9-12 MPH

The Packers and Giants meet in the second game of a rare “Monday Night Football” doubleheader, and what do you know, the weather will actually be dry in the Meadowlands. Brisk and a little windy, but no rain.
