NFL Week 15 Composite Power Ratings (2023)

Each week, I compile power ratings from a bevy of respected sources across the NFL handicapping community. Power ratings are designed to identify how many points a team would be favored by against an average team on a neutral field. By calculating the difference in ratings between the two teams (and adjusting for home-field advantage), you can get a ratings-implied spread to compare to the actual spread. In the second section, I’ve done that while assuming a value of 1.5 points for home-field advantage and using the composite spread from all the sources. Additionally, I’ve provided some comments on trends and numbers that stood out to me.

Week 15 NFL Composite Power Ratings

      • There has not been much movement in the power ratings at the top as the tier of Super Bowl contenders continues to dominate, save for the Miami Dolphins.
      • The two biggest movers this week were both quarterback injury related. On one side you have the Los Angeles Chargers, who will be without Justin Herbert for the rest of the year and have officially returned yet another disappointing season. On the other side, you have the Jacksonville Jaguars, whose quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, didn’t miss a single game despite suffering what appeared to be a serious ankle injury.

      Week 15 Matchups

      • This week on the BettingPros podcast, I mentioned Dallas as one of my favorite plays and the ratings agree. While Dallas’ opponents have been easier during their five-game winning streak, they have blown them out to the tune of a 23.2-point average margin of victory. Buffalo has been rising of late, especially after a critical win against the Chiefs, but I expect MVP favorite Dak Prescott to have his way with Buffalo’s secondary and come away with an outright win.
