NFL Week 15 Pick'em Pool Advice
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts were decimated by Jake Browning and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Yet, the Pittsburgh Steelers are somehow entering this game on more of a low. The Steelers lost at home on Thursday night to the Patriots, their second consecutive loss to a team with 10 defeats this season.
At the moment, the Steelers are still clinging to the sixth seed in the AFC, while the Colts hold the seventh. When all is said and done, neither of these teams may be playing in January, but it will be the Colts who hold onto hope a few more weeks after a win on Saturday.
Kenny Pickett has already been ruled out for the Steelers, so their offense is bound to be a disaster yet again. Unable to take advantage of the Colts' defense, the Steelers are going to let the Colts hang around and ultimately pull out a close victory like they've done so many times this season.
The Pick: Indianapolis Colts
Chicago Bears vs. Cleveland Browns
The Browns picked up a huge win over the Jaguars last week, as Joe Flacco threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns. The defense forced four turnovers, including three interceptions of Trevor Lawrence.
Meanwhile, the Bears got revenge against the Detroit Lions, defeating the leaders of the NFC North 28-13. The Bears have now won three of their last four, and they're miraculously only a game out of the playoffs.
While the Browns' defense will give Justin Fields fits in this game, the Bears are going to do a number on Flacco as well. In their last three games, the Bears are allowing just 173 passing yards per contest. Flacco has looked good since arriving in Cleveland, but he hasn't faced a defense like the Bears thus far. In a low-scoring game, the Bears sneak away with the upset.
The Pick: Chicago Bears
Dallas Cowboys vs. Buffalo Bills
This is a letdown spot for both teams after each took care of business against a great opponent last week. The Cowboys are now tied with the Philadelphia Eagles atop the NFC East, while the Bills are right in the mix for an AFC playoff spot.
It's unlikely either team will be their best on Sunday, so this will come down to who the better team is. Right now, the Cowboys are one of the two best teams in football. The Bills are not. The Cowboys have rattled off five consecutive wins, and they've scored at least 33 in each of those games.
The Bills have played well of late, and they probably should have beaten the Eagles two weeks ago. However, Josh Allen's interception trouble makes it so that the Bills never have a safe lead. He's now thrown a pick in nine consecutive games. The Bills are 4-5 during that stretch. The Cowboys' defense is averaging one interception per game, so Allen's streak won't end on Sunday. And with how Dak Prescott and the Cowboysâ offense are playing, one turnover may be all it takes for the Bills to find themselves behind by an insurmountable margin.
The Pick: Dallas Cowboys
Baltimore Ravens vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars have lost two in a row and with a loss on Sunday, they're in danger of falling into a tie for the AFC South lead. Meanwhile, the Ravens have won three in a row and, thanks to results from around the league, they're in the driver's seat for the AFC's top seed.
There is always the chance that the Jaguars' pass defense is so bad that no matter how well Lawrence plays, the Jaguars lose. After all, the Jaguars rank 31st in the league in passing yards allowed per game, and they're allowing 301 yards per game over their last three.
That sets up well for Lamar Jackson and the offense to explode. However, the Jaguars are suddenly desperate, and the Ravens have a road game against the San Francisco 49ers on the horizon. If this game was being played in Baltimore, it would be a no-brainer. But on Sunday night in Jacksonville, Lawrence will be healthier than he was against the Browns. In a game they need, the Jaguars are going to find a way to get back to winning.
The Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars
