NFL Week 17 Pick’Em Pool Advice

Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys

This is a great matchup and will have a big impact on how seeding plays out in the NFC. The Cowboys have lost back-to-back games on the road against AFC East opponents, while the Lions have won consecutive games to lock up their first NFC North title.

Jared Goff and the Lions’ offense has been humming over the last two weeks. They’ve scored 72 points, with six of their touchdowns coming off passes from Goff. Rookie Jahymr Gibbs has scored four touchdowns over the past two games and rushed for 180 yards.

While Gibbs could prove to be a problem for the Cowboys and their average run defense, the Cowboys have yet to lose in their home stadium this year. The Cowboys have a lot to play for this week, with the NFC East still hanging in the balance. The Lions are due for a letdown game. Dak Prescott will throw for over 350 yards as he leads his team to victory.

The Pick: Dallas Cowboys

Miami Dolphins at Baltimore Ravens

What the Ravens did to the San Francisco 49ers on Christmas was nothing short of incredible. They held the 49ers to fewer than 20 points for just the fourth time this season, while the defense picked off Brock Purdy four times. Meanwhile, the Dolphins won a hard-fought game over the Cowboys to move to 11-4 on the season.

Without taking away from the Ravens’ victory, Lamar Jackson dominating the NFC is expected. He’s now 20-1 in his career against teams from the NFC, and his average margin of victory this season is 18.6 points.

With their win over the Cowboys’ the Dolphins finally picked up a victory against a team with an above .500 record. However, they still have a lot of work to do. With an experienced quarterback and an ever-improving secondary, the Dolphins are going to keep this one close until late, then secure the AFC East with a last-second field goal.

The Pick: Miami Dolphins

Pittsburgh Steelers at Seattle Seahawks

Mason Rudolph looked unstoppable in the Steelers’ 34-11 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. He finished the game with 290 yards and two touchdowns, both of which were thrown to George Pickens and more than 65 yards each.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks struggled with the Tennessee Titans and pulled out a last-second victory to move to 8-7. While the victory was far from impressive, heading back home to play in front of their home crowd is exactly what the Seahawks need this week.

The Seahawks are allowing 229 passing yards per game, nearly 30 fewer than what the Bengals are allowing this season. The more difficult matchup will bring Rudolph back down to earth, as the Seahawks will grind out their ninth win of the season.

The Pick: Seattle Seahawks

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings

The winner of this game will remain in contention for a playoff berth, while the loser will be eliminated with wins by both the Seahawks and Rams. The Packers ended a two-game losing streak with an unconvincing 33-30 victory over the Carolina Panthers. It was the most points Bryce Young and the Panthers have scored this season.

Meanwhile, the Vikings battled the Lions, but they were unable to overcome four Nick Mullens interceptions. That being said, they still had possession of the ball with under two minutes remaining and a chance to win. A big reason why was their defense. Their defense gave up 30 points, but considering the bad field position their offense consistently put them in, it could have been a lot worse.

Since defeating the Lions and Kansas City Chiefs in back-to-back weeks, Jordan Love has regressed significantly over the past three games. The defense has looked really bad as well. If Mullens takes care of the ball, the Vikings should win this game by double-digits.

The Pick: Minnesota Vikings
