NFL Week 17 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions (2023)

We’re down to the penultimate weekend of the National Football League regular season, and most games will be played on the final day of the 2023 calendar. And, as has been the case for most of the fall and winter, Mother Nature will cooperate and give most football fans very nice weather, which is helpful since most fantasy managers will be enjoying their championship games in Week 17.

We will have one exception where we will see some of the white, frozen precipitation, and a couple of venues will have some brisk winds. But it won’t be anything which alters the results much, if at all.

Let’s look at the Week 17 weather report.

NFL Week 17 Weather Report

All forecasts courtesy of AccuWeather.com

Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys (-4.5) | Total 52.5

Forecast: Indoors (Saturday game)

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Lions and Cowboys meet in a super important game with plenty of playoff implications in the NFC. They’ll play the game under controlled environmental conditions, too.

Miami Dolphins at Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) | Total 46.5

Forecast: 49 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 6-8 MPH

In another game which is hugely important as far as the AFC playoff picture is concerned, we’ll have a Chamber of Commerce day in Charm City, with just a brisk wind to contend with.

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills (-13.5) | Total 40.5

Forecast: 37 degrees, 40% chance of snow

Wind speed: 5-7 MPH

This won’t be anything like wild Monday night game in western New York a couple of years ago, with ice and gale-force winds, but we could get a half-inch of snow, and some slippery conditions, mainly in the second half.

Atlanta Falcons at Chicago Bears (-3) | Total 37.5

Forecast: 33 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 10-13 MPH

There could be a chance of some stray flurries during the game, but this game should be concluded before any real chance of snow. The Windy City lives up to its nickname, although with gusts from 15-20 MPH.

Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans (-5.5) | Total 43.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Titans roll into H-Town looking to play spoiler in the AFC South title race. They’ll do so with no wind and in the air conditioning of NRG Stadium in one of just four indoor games this week.

Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis Colts (-3.5) | Total 43.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

This is sort of like a playoff game, as the team which wins will likely keep their playoff hopes alive at least one more week, while the loser is all but eliminated. At least they’ll have a dry, fast track to do their thing.

Carolina Panthers at Jacksonville Jaguars (-6) | Total 37.5

Forecast: 58 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 4-7 MPH

For Northeast Florida, this might be a tad on the chilly side, but it should be pretty comfortable for both teams, with very little wind to speak of.

Los Angeles Rams (-5.5) at New York Giants | Total 44.5

Forecast: 42 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 5-8 MPH

The Rams head outdoors looking to keep their playoff hopes alive in the NFC, and they’ll find rather balmy conditions in Gotham with mostly sunny skies and very little wind.

Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles (-10.5) | Total 48

Forecast: 45 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 6-9 MPH

The Cardinals venture from the desert to the City of Brotherly love, and all the eliminated Cards can do is try to play spoiler. The Eagles will just be happy to be home, and it’s actually dry, after a rather rainy home schedule in 2023.

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5) | Total 42.5

Forecast: 63 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 2-4 MPH

The Saints and Buccaneers renew acquaintances on the Suncoast, and the temperatures will be beautiful, with just the slightest breeze on the Gulf Coast.

San Francisco 49ers (-12.5) at Washington Commanders | Total 49.5

Forecast: 47 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 4-6 MPH

The 49ers head to the Eastern Time Zone for the fifth time this season. It will feel like a late summer San Francisco day, with temperatures around 50 degrees and a slight wind in D.C.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Seattle Seahawks (-3.5) | Total 41.5

Forecast: 48 degrees, 10% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 2-4 MPH

If we have any precipitation, it will simply be of the misty variety. The conditions will mostly be a little on the cool side with breeze which is ever so slight. Pretty nice for Seattle this time of year.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs (-7) | Total 43.5

Forecast: 33 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 10-12 MPH

We’ll have temperatures right around freezing, but the conditions will be nothing these teams aren’t used to. There will be a rather persistent breeze which could potentially affect a few passes and kicks, but it should mostly be fine.

Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos (-3.5) | Total 36.5

Forecast: 42 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 4-6 MPH

The Mile High City will give us coolish conditions, but nothing too terrible, and unfortunately for snow game lovers, no white stuff. There isn’t even much of a breeze, and for that, quarterbacks Easton Stick and Jarrett Stidham thank Mother Nature.

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (-1.5) | Total 44.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

Like the Raiders-Colts game above, the winner of this game will hang onto their slim playoff hopes, while the loser will all but likely be eliminated from the postseason chase.
