NFL Week 2 Early Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

It was only Week 1. Don’t panic.

The Giants are better than what they displayed on Sunday Night. The Cincinnati Bengals will put up many points throughout the season with Joe Burrow under center. There’s no doubt in my mind.

Again, it’s just one week!

Here are three bets to consider for Week 2 of the NFL season.

Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Green Bay Packers didn’t miss a beat. They no longer have Aaron Rodgers, but Jordan Love’s season debut was perfect. Love added 245 passing yards and three touchdowns despite Christian Watson being unavailable in that game.

Watson could return for Week 2; his status is still up in the air. But the Packers looked dominant, not just on offense but on defense as well. The Packers held the Bears to 20 points and allowed only 122 yards on the ground. That’s incredible, especially knowing how good Justin Fields is at rushing the football.

On the other hand, the Falcons picked up a 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. This result was a bit more expected. However, the Falcons allowed 300 yards on defense and gained just 245 yards on offense. Drake London was nowhere to be found as WR1 for the Falcons.

That’s concerning.

I’m sure the Falcons will also get Bijan Robinson more touches as the weeks go on and he’ll be the one playmaker for the team. But that won’t be enough. Take the Packers on the road at -1.

Bet: Packers -1  (-110)

Washington Commanders vs. Denver Broncos

I was impressed by the Washington Commanders after their Week 1 win against the Arizona Cardinals.

Everyone was already counting out the Cardinals in the season opener. Arizona was competitive, but the Commanders found a way to win the game after holding the Cardinals to 228 yards.

On the other hand, the Broncos lost 17-16 to the Las Vegas Raiders. The offense was weak, yet again.

Neither run game will be very effective between the Commanders and Broncos. Both teams rushed for under 100 yards and held their opponents for under 100 yards.

Meanwhile, neither team even earned 300 yards on offense in their games.

Consider betting Under 40 for the total points in this matchup.

Bet: Under 40 (-110)

Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots

The Patriots gave it their all against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Patriots were down 16-0 but came back with a chance to take the lead in the final series.

It didn’t work out, but the offense did its thing.

Why can’t it do its thing against the Dolphins this week?

Justin Herbert and the Chargers added 462 yards of offense against the Dolphins. They added 234 yards on the ground and 228 yards in the air. The Patriots’ passing game looks the best it’s been since Tom Brady left.

On the other hand, the Dolphins added 536 yards of offense in their win against the Chargers. Tua Tagovailoa, when healthy, is a top-five quarterback. It’s not because of his skill, but because of the skill that the Dolphins put around him.

Take the Over 45.5 total points.

Bet: Over 45.5 (-110)
