NFL Week 2 Player Prop Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday Night Football (2022)
The Chicago Bears take on the Green Bay Packers in a divisional matchup in Lambeau for Sunday Night Football. Shockingly yet true, the Bears currently hold a lead over the Packers in the NFC North. Here are my favorite prop bets for Sunday night's game.
Darnell Mooney Over 4.5 Receptions (+125, DraftKings)
Third-year wideout Darnell Mooney was limited to just one reception in Week One's monsoon game against the San Francisco 49ers. As a result, I feel this week's line is deflated. Last season, Mooney surpassed 4.5 receptions in 12 of 17 (70.6%) total games. Looking even further, Mooney ended the season on a tear earning five or more receptions in eight of ten (80.0%) games. Additionally, Mooney finished fifth in the entire NFL with a 26.6% target share. Not to compare Mooney to Justin Jefferson, but the Packers did allow Jefferson to be hyper-targeted in Week One, earning nine receptions. With a potentially overrated secondary and a historically great target share, I believe Mooney will see enough volume to record five or more receptions.
A.J. Dillon Over 51.5 Rushing Yards (-115, DraftKings)
A.J. Dillon has shown out as the second running back for the Green Bay Packers. Dillon has surpassed the 51.5 rushing yards mark in six of the last ten (60.0%) games. In 2021, the Bears finished 22nd in the NFL, allowing 125.1 rushing yards per game. This number only got worse in 2022 as they allowed 176.0 rushing yards per game, ranking 26th in the NFL. Throughout his career, Dillon has averaged 4.5 yards per carry. Dillon only needs 12 carries to eclipse 51.5 rushing yards at that rate. Dillon received 12 or more carries in four games to end the season in 2021. I believe he will see enough volume in Week Two to surpass 51.5 rushing yards.
Aaron Rodgers Over 1.5 Passing TDs (-195, DraftKings)
Aaron Rodgers is the king of multiple passing touchdown games. As we know, Rodgers owns the Chicago Bears. I don't expect Sunday Night to be any different. In the 2021 season, Rodgers threw for two or more touchdowns in all but one game. That one game was Week One against the New Orleans Saints, similar to the game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week One this season. Against the Bears, Rodgers has thrown for two or more touchdowns in four of his last four games against them. Two touchdowns for the two-time reigning MVP does not appear to be a tall task. Despite the juice, take Rodgers over 1.5 passing touchdowns on Sunday Night Football.
