NFL Week 2 Thursday Night Football Best Bets (Vikings vs. Eagles)

The Minnesota Vikings will travel to play the Philadelphia Eagles in a key early-season NFC matchup. Here are our best bets and predictions for “Thursday Night Football.”

Week 2’s Best Thursday Night Football Bets

All wagers are one unit.

Philadelphia Eagles -7 (-110 via FanDuel Sportsbook)

The weather left the Eagles' offense looking pedestrian on Sunday, but we expect a huge bounce back in Week 2. The Vikings were already a team that many expected to take a step back in 2023, and after what they did in Week 1 against the Buccaneers, it's hard to believe that they will have much success this season.

This is a lot of points, considering the Vikings' offense does have the most explosive player in the NFL, Justin Jefferson. However, we expect this to be a high-scoring game. That favors the Eagles because they have the better defense and are more poised to get stops throughout the game. The Eagles' secondary is banged up, but their offense may score every time they're on the field.

Over 49 Points (-108 via DraftKings Sportsbook)

This game has high-scoring written all over it. Although neither team played in a shootout in Week 1, the weakness for each of these teams is on the defensive side of the ball. The Eagles are likely to be without cornerback James Bradberry, and Nick Sirianni already stated that linebacker Nakobe Dean will be out for at least a couple of weeks.

Though the defensive line for the Eagles will have a field day against the Vikings' offensive line, we still expect the Vikings to move the ball well, especially if they fall behind early. Don't read too much into what the Eagles' offense did in Week 1. Trust the third-highest-scoring team from a year ago to get right on Thursday.

Dallas Goedert Over 44.5 Receiving Yards (-110 via bet365)

Dallas Goedert's season opener was horrible. He was targeted just once, and he failed to make a reception. Considered one of the best tight ends in the league, we expect Goedert to have a huge game in Week 2.

After the game, Sirianni made a point of mentioning that they need to get the ball to Goedert more if they want to win this season. He should factor into the game plan much more significantly this week.

The Vikings only gave up two catches for 19 yards to the Tampa Bay tight ends in Week 1. However, it is important to remember that the tight ends are not a focal point of the Buccaneers’ offense. With Goedert expected to get a bigger share this week and with a high-scoring affair in store, we love this bet up to 50 yards.

KJ Osborn Anytime Touchdown (+270 DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Eagles had no answer for Kendrick Bourne in Week 1. With DeVante Parker sidelined because of an injury, Bourne saw an increase in action. He hauled in six catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns, outperforming every other Patriots' receiver in each category.

While Darius Slay will likely be matched up with Jefferson for most of the game, Osborn could see a huge increase in target share. As kickoff approaches, it's looking more likely that Bradberry will be out. If he is, then that means Osborn will likely face coverage from Josh Jobe for a large portion of the game.

But whoever covers Osborn, this is a matchup the Vikings will try to exploit. At the current price, this is one of the most valuable bets of the night.
