NFL Week 4 Early Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

Last weekend, I gave my best bets for Week 3 of the NFL season before Week 2 began.

I suggested taking the Buccaneers at +7 and the Rams at +7.5 for their Week 3 matchups.

The Buccaneers are now sitting at +5, and the Rams are only at +3. We’ve got plenty of EV on those matchups.

Let’s grab some more EV on the Week 4 matchups before Week 3 begins.

Denver Broncos vs. Chicago Bears

What happens when the Broncos get torched by the Dolphins this weekend? Denver backers will panic.

What happens when the Bears lose to the Chiefs by 21+ points? Nothing.

The Bears have nothing to lose in their game against the Chiefs this weekend. If Chicago looks good and Justin Fields plays well, the Bears will gain momentum. We will try and bank on Fields playing at a higher level this week. And with so much criticism around the Bears this weekend, Chicago might allow Fields to be himself.

The Bears have been embarrassing, but that demoralizing loss for the Broncos last weekend was just as bad. I’ll take the home team with the points.

Bet: Bears +2 (-110)

Washington Commanders vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have a road matchup against the Buccaneers on Monday night, so they’ll have one fewer night to prepare for this game against the Commanders.

Washington’s pass rush has been super effective, and the rest of the defense has been slightly above average. Meanwhile, the offense has responded behind Sam Howell. Philadelphia has allowed at least 25 points in their two games this season, and the Commanders will certainly score some points in this one.

On the other hand, Philadelphia has won both games by six or fewer points. They’re winning one-score games and allowing their opponents back in the game in the second half.

The Commanders came back against the Broncos during the second half last weekend. Washington shouldn’t be over a 7.5-point underdog. Get this line before it gets to 6.5.

Bet: Commanders +7.5 (-110)

Minnesota Vikings vs. Carolina Panthers

The Minnesota Vikings have started the season 0-2. They must clean up turnovers and play better on the defensive line. The run game should begin to improve with the Cam Akers acquisition.

The biggest weakness for the Panthers right now is the passing game. Bryce Young hasn’t looked good, and he’s still in the developmental stage of his career in the NFL.

However, I should point out that the Vikings have a terrific secondary that will make it extremely hard for Young to complete passes. Carolina’s receivers aren’t getting open very often, and that won’t change against the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Minnesota still has an incredible passing game with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson doing their thing.

The Vikings will likely jump to -3 or higher once Week 3 concludes.

Bet: Vikings -2.5 (-110)
