Details

  • Opening Line: Bengals -1 | O/U 48.5
  • Current Line: Bengals -3.5 | O/U 46.5
  • Last meeting: December 6, 2020 – Bengals 7, Dolphins 19

Overview

Going for their first 4-0 start since 1995, the Dolphins are riding high following a 21-19 win over fellow AFC East opponent Buffalo in week three. At the helm, new head coach Mike McDaniel has made quarterback Tua Tagovailoa look like one of the best in the league, as he’s also benefited from one of the best weapons in the league in Tyreek Hill.

Tagovailoa’s availability is still unclear this week, however, as a concussion vs. Buffalo saw Teddy Bridgewater being prepared to play throughout this week.

As for the Bengals, an opening game loss vs. the Steelers was followed by another dud vs. the Cowboys, as they looked to avoid an 0-3 start last week. Facing the Jets, the Bengals did just that, as a 27-12 win was in order as their offensive line was able to keep Joe Burrow upright for a change.

In the win, Burrow threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns on the day, as he was sacked just twice. The two sacks were a significant step up, as the first two games saw Burrow go down a league-leading 13 times.

Bottom Line

The Bengals should also benefit this week from the upgrade of running back Joe Mixon (ankle), who all signs point towards being able to play this week. For the Dolphins, team-leading wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (groin) is still an unknown for this week, as he missed practice early in the week.

While the best number is gone, I like for the Bengals to bring the Dolphins back down to earth this week, as the AFC Champions take another step in shaking off their Super Bowl hangover.

Pick: Bengals -3.5
