NFL Week 4 Totals Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

Just like that, we’re almost one-quarter of the way through the NFL season, and the storylines for the 2023 season are starting to take shape. The Eagles and 49ers look like they’re on a collision course to meet in the NFC Championship for the second year in a row. Over in the AFC, the Dolphins are putting up video game numbers on offense and look like a threat to get back to the Super Bowl for the first time in nearly 40 years. To get there, it looks like they’ll have to deal with Josh Allen and the Bills in the AFC East, as Buffalo is starting to put it together after a lackluster performance in their season opener against the Jets. And if either Buffalo or Miami is going to get to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, they’ll likely have to deal with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who are starting to look like themselves after an opening night loss to the Lions.

In this space, though, we’ll highlight our favorite Totals picks for the upcoming week. There are a handful of games that stand out in Week 4, so let’s get to the picks.

    Week 4 Totals Picks

    (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans – O/U 41

Both the Bengals and Titans are dealing with early-season injuries to key offensive players. Cincinnati QB Joe Burrow has been hampered by a strained calf since early in training camp, and the signal caller re-aggravated the injury in Week 2. Burrow was able to play through it in a 19-16 win over the Rams Monday night, but he clearly isn’t 100% right now.

As for the Titans, RB Derrick Henry is dealing with a toe injury and was limited to just 20 yards on 11 carries in last week’s 27-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Tennessee’s big offseason acquisition, WR DeAndre Hopkins also popped up on the Titans’ injury report with an ankle issue.

The under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between these two teams. The total has also gone under in seven of Tennessee’s last ten games. Both teams have averaged just 15 points per game so far this season. This line opened at 42 and has been bet down to 40.5 in some places. Jump on it before it drops any further.

    The Pick: Under 41 (-110)

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns – O/U 40.5

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens travel to Cleveland to take on Myles Garrett and a Browns defense that ranks first in the NFL in Points Allowed, yielding just 10.7 points per game and just one offensive touchdown in their first three games.

The Ravens’ defense has looked strong so far this season, and that’s without three of their starters. The league’s 8th-ranked scoring defense gets safety Marcus Williams back this week as Baltimore looks to continue their dominance over their AFC North Division rival. The Ravens have won five of the last seven against Cleveland, and the under has hit in three of the last four. Sunday should make that four out of five.

    The Pick: Under 40.5 (-105)

Denver Broncos at Chicago Bears – O/U 45.5

These two teams gave up a combined 111 points last week. The over should be a lock, right? In the words of ESPN College GameDay’s Lee Corso, not so fast, my friend! The Dolphins nearly broke the NFL record for points in a game, putting 70 on the board against Denver, while the Bears gave up 41 to the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs—two of the top offenses in the league. The good news for both defenses is they’ll face far less threatening offenses this week.

Chicago is averaging just 15.7 points per game on the year, and the local and national media is starting to question whether Fields is the quarterback of the future for the struggling franchise. The Broncos offense was historically awful a year ago, averaging just 16.9 points per game. Denver brought Sean Payton out of semi-retirement to take over, and while we’ve seen some positive signs, the Broncos offense has put up just 23 points per game in three games. The under has hit in three of the last four meetings between the two franchises, and there’s no reason it should be four out of five come Sunday evening.

    The Pick: Under 45.5 (-110)
