NFL Week 5 Early Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

There have been so many crazy results in the NFL through the first three weeks of the NFL season. A lot of the time, there’s a massive overreaction from the previous week’s results.

If we know the outcomes for Week 4, it would be wise to get in on some Week 5 action and earn quality expected value (EV) bets.

I’ve got three spots in Week 5 that you should consider before Week 4 even begins.

Early NFL Week 5 Best Bets

All wagers are 1 unit.

Houston Texans vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Houston Texans are improving every week. After their strong performance against the Jaguars last weekend, the Texans are starting to earn some momentum.

Houston put up 37 points on the Jaguars and will now take on an average Steelers squad. If Houston can take care of business against Pittsburgh and the Falcons lose in London, we likely won’t see this Houston line at +3.5 anymore.

Houston’s got the more reliable quarterback and is getting way more players involved on the offensive end. While Atlanta’s defense has been encouraging, the team with the most points wins.

I’d take the Texans here.

Bet: Texans +3.5 (-110)

Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets

The Jets are not underdogs against the Broncos, are they?

The Broncos just allowed 70 points to the Miami Dolphins. If Zach Wilson can’t find the confidence to throw the ball down the field against Denver, the Jets are doomed.

I think New York will allow Wilson to play more loose in Week 4. They’ll try more shots down the field and won’t always run the ball on first down. The Jets were predictable. Look for that to change in Week 4.

On the other hand, if the Broncos lose to the Bears, there’s no chance the Jets stay at +3. Grab that key number.

Bet: Jets +3 (-110)

Green Bay Packers vs. Las Vegas Raiders

It’s unlikely that the Raiders earn a win against the Chargers on the road this week. Meanwhile, the Packers have an early matchup against the Lions on Thursday night.

Green Bay should be much healthier by this game. Aaron Jones and Christian Watson will likely be back by then, if not this Thursday.

The Packers are better on paper and the better team via the eye test. With the Packers playing on Monday Night Football, they’ll have nearly two weeks to get healthy and prepare for this game.

Grab the Packers at -1. That’s way too low of a number.

Bet: Packers -1 (-110)
