Early NFL Week 5 Best Bets

All wagers are 1 unit.

Houston Texans vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Houston Texans are coming off a dominating win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They’ve also won two straight games, dating back to Week 3 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On the other hand, the Falcons have lost two straight games after starting 2-0. They’re also returning home from London, where they played the Jaguars for the NFL’s International Series.

The Falcons will get to be home for this game. But a little jet lag could be in play for the Falcons.

Desmond Ridder has thrown just three touchdowns and three interceptions in four games for the Falcons. He’s also thrown only 744 yards despite having so many weapons on the offensive end.

Meanwhile, C.J. Stroud, a Texans rookie, has balled out, adding 1212 yards of offense with six touchdowns and no interceptions.

Houston’s defense is led by one of the best defensive minds in football, DeMeco Ryans. He’s the head coach of this team.

Right now, Houston looks like a playoff team. The Falcons don’t. Grab the Texans at +2.5 to begin the week.

Bet: Texans +2.5 (-110)

New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots

The New Orleans Saints got Alvin Kamara back last weekend, and Derek Carr was healthy enough to play quarterback.

But the offense still only scored nine points against the Buccaneers at home. That’s not impressive at all.

However, the defense has held three of four teams to 20 or fewer points this season.

After the Patriots just scored three points against the Cowboys, this game looks like a snoozer.

Neither team has been able to run the football effectively, and both teams have allowed under 320 yards of offense per game.

Coach Bill Belichick had the worst defeat of his career by a margin of victory. He even benched Mac Jones when the game got out of hand. Belichick pleaded that he was keeping him safe from injury after a blowout loss. Jones will start for the Patriots in this game. But he hasn’t been superb at all.

The under makes the most sense in this game.

Bet: Under 39 (-110)
