Raiders vs. Broncos
I know people will make fun of Bo Nix for throwing 12 completions for just 60 yards against the Jets last weekend. But since he was able to limit turnovers and didn’t throw an interception, he gave his team a chance to win.
And they did just that.
Nix helped lift the Broncos to a 10-9 win in a rainy, wet environment at MetLife Stadium. Forget the stats. The Broncos did what they had to do.
Before facing New York, Nix threw for 216 yards in a 26-17 win and completed nearly 70% of his passes.
Additionally, the Denver defense is showing up. The Broncos have allowed no more than 13 points in three consecutive games, but the Raiders’ defense can’t say the same. Instead, Las Vegas has allowed at least 22 points in three of its first four games and has faced some below-average offenses through the first four weeks of the season.
While the Raiders are a bit all over the place, Denver’s success is sustainable. Nix is old enough to understand the value of not turning the ball over. He’s not trying to force any play, which gives the Broncos a chance in every game. Let’s back the Broncos at -1.5 (-110) at home to conclude our early picks on Sunday.
