NFL Week 5 Teaser Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)
One popular way bettors try to find value on NFL lines is by playing teasers. An NFL teaser is similar to a parlay; you add multiple legs that must all win for the bet to pay out. The key difference from parlays is that a teaser allows you to buy points like 6, 6.5, or 7 in a direction that lowers risk.
Teaser Tips to Follow
- Never Cross over 0
- Tease through two key numbers, ideally 3 & 7.
- Tease games with lower totals, ideally anything 49 or less.
Below are three teaser options for Week 5, along with my Best Bet.

Week 5 Teaser Options
Indianapolis Colts from +2.5 to +8.5 vs. Tennessee Titans
The wrong team is favored in this matchup. My numbers have the Colts as a 3-point home favorite.
The Titans are coming off a win against the Cincinnati Bengals. On paper, it looks impressive, but letâs be honest: the Bengals do not look like themselves, and Joe Burrow is clearly still battling that calf injury. The Bengals ranked 28th in offensive EPA/Play and 29th in offensive Success Rate.
Meanwhile, rookie QB Anthony Richardson and the Colts have surprised many through the first four weeks of the season. They almost had a Week 1 upset against the Jaguars, beat the Ravens with a backup QB, and nearly pulled off a 23-point comeback.
Backing the Colts with 8.5 points at home is the best teaser option for Week 5.
Minnesota Vikings from +3.5 to +9.5 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
This option does not necessarily follow the tip above, but I like the Vikings to keep this game close. I think this game ends within one score, so getting the Vikings at home +9.5 is excellent value.
We know the Vikingsâ offense can hang with anyone; their defense is a type of defense that bends but doesnât break, giving them a shot to win week in and week out. All three of the Vikingsâ losses are with one score: they lost by three to the Buccaneers, six to the Eagles and four to the Chargers.
The problem with the Vikings is the offensive turnovers; they have 11, which is the most in the league. If they take care of the ball, they should have a shot to win outright against a Chiefs team that hasnât looked their best.
New York Jets from +2.5 to +8.5 vs. Denver Broncos
Zach Wilson arguably had the best game of his career, nearly pulling off the upset over the Kansas City Chiefs. Now Wilson gets a chance to do the same against a Broncos defense that is off to one of the worst starts in NFL history.
The Broncos defense is dead last in EPA/Play (0.285) and has allowed the second-most passing yards (1129) and the most passing touchdowns (13) to opposing QBs.
The Jets will have to travel to Denver, and playing in that high altitude is a huge advantage to the home team, but If Zach Wilson plays anywhere near how he did last week, he should be able to keep this game within one score.
