NFL Week 6 Anytime & First TD Scorers: Jaguars vs. Bears (London)
The NFL world gets our second consecutive London game of the year this week. The Jacksonville Jaguars face the Chicago Bears early Sunday morning. Millions of dollars will get bet on this game. However, which touchdown prop bets should you bet? Let's take a look.
Jaguars vs. Bears TD Scorer Prop Bets
All props are from DraftKings Sportsbook
Jacksonville Jaguars First TD Scorer: Tank Bigsby (+470)
Bigsby had two rushing touchdowns as a rookie on 50 attempts and zero scores over the first four weeks this year. However, he had a breakout performance in Week 5, totaling 13 rushing attempts for 101 yards and two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts. The former Auburn star played only 40% of the snaps but took advantage of an awful run defense.
Thankfully, Bigsby faces another awful run defense in London. The Bears have surrendered six rushing touchdowns to running backs this year, the third-most in the NFL. They have given up five rushing touchdowns to running backs over the past three weeks, surrendering at least one in every contest. More importantly, the first touchdown scored against Chicago has been by a running back in four of five games.
Chicago Bears First TD Scorer: DJ Moore (+450)
The Bears offense got off to a rocky start. They lost two of their first three games, averaging 17.7 points per game. Moore struggled in those games despite averaging 9.3 targets per game, failing to find the end zone. However, he has been outstanding during the team's two-game win streak. The star wide receiver has three receiving touchdowns over the past two weeks, including two in Week 5 against his former team.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars have surrendered six receiving touchdowns to wide receivers this season, the seventh-most in the NFL. They have given two or more receiving touchdowns to wide receivers in more games (two) than none (one) this year, with both instances coming over the past three weeks, including Week 5. More importantly, the first touchdown scored against Jacksonville has been by a wide receiver in back-to-back contests.
Anytime TD Scorer: Travis Etienne Jr. (+140)
Jacksonville might only have one touchdown in this game, given how well Chicago's defense has played this year. However, Etienne is still the Jaguars' lead running back despite Tank Bigsby's emergence. The former Clemson star leads the team in rushing attempts (53) and touchdowns (two) this season. More importantly, his 69 touches are nearly twice as many as anyone else on the roster, accounting for a third of Jacksonville's total.
Etienne will remain a critical part of the Jaguars' offense, especially this week against an awful run defense. Chicago's pass defense has been outstanding, surrendering only two passing touchdowns to quarterbacks in 2024, the second-fewest in the NFL. Furthermore, they've shut down every opposing wide receiver not named Nico Collins. Expect Jacksonville to limit the number of times Trevor Lawrence drops back and take advantage of the Bears' poor run defense.
Anytime TD Scorer: Roschon Johnson (+205)
The Bears have found their identity on offense the past few weeks. DâAndre Swift and Johnson have formed a strong 1-2 punch in the backfield after the team had no rushing attack earlier in the year. Swift has found the end zone in back-to-back games. However, Johnson has three rushing touchdowns in those two contests, including two on 10 attempts last week against the Carolina Panthers.
Bettors should consider betting on Swift (+110) and Johnson to score an anytime touchdown, possibly parlaying them together (+650). However, I have more faith in Johnson to score than Swift because he has gotten the goal line work. The second-year running back has scored all three of his touchdowns during the team's two-game winning streak from inside the three-yard line. Meanwhile, the Jaguars gave up a rushing touchdown to Trey Sermon last week.
