NFL Week 6 Pick’em Pool Advice, Picks & Predictions (2023)

In Week 5, the San Francisco 49ers decimated the Dallas Cowboys to set a pretty clear hierarchy in the NFC. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills followed up their win over the Miami Dolphins with a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. This week, there are a lot of home favorites that may be better than oddsmakers are giving them credit.

Here is our best NFL pick-em advice for Week 6.

NFL Week 6 Pick’Em Pool Advice

Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears

The battle to stay out of last place in the NFC North got a whole lot more interesting with the announcement that Justin Jefferson would be out for an extended period of time. The Vikings are still 2.5-point road favorites, perhaps because they haven't lost to their division rivals since 2020.

But with how the Bears have been playing on offense, this is a really tough game to pick. In his last two contests, Justin Fields has thrown for over 600 yards, eight touchdowns and just one interception.

Every game the Vikings have been a part of this season has been decided by just one score. That includes their 21-13 win over the winless Carolina Panthers. Based on how both these teams are playing right now and that Jefferson is out, we're going with the home underdog.

The Pick: Chicago Bears

New Orleans Saints vs. Houston Texans

The Texans keep showing up here week after week because the spreads for their games are always tight. We had them last week to beat the Atlanta Falcons, but they lost on a field goal as time expired. However, before that field goal, C.J. Stroud led a 5:08, 11-play, 75-yard go-ahead touchdown drive with just 1:49 remaining. With him at the helm, the Texans are in every game.

This week, the Texans are home underdogs against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints just handed Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots a 34-0 loss this past Sunday. The defense was incredible, holding the Patriots' offense to 156 yards and eight first downs while forcing three turnovers.

This will be a close game, but once again, we're going with the home underdogs. The Texans seem to be playing better every week. While the Saints have a 3-2 record, their wins were far from convincing until this past weekend. We're expecting a letdown against a team that is playing with a lot of confidence despite their Week 5 loss.

The Pick: Houston Texans

Seattle Seahawks vs. Cincinnati Bengals

This is going to be a popular upset pick. The Seahawks are coming off the bye; they're 3-1, and in their last game, they obliterated the New York Giants on both sides of the ball. Perhaps the Bengals' performance last week against the Arizona Cardinals was a fluke. Or maybe it was a sign of things to come.

Just when everyone had written off Cincinnati, they went to Arizona, dropped 34 points, and Joe Burrow threw for 317 yards and three touchdowns. Ja'Marr Chase caught all three of Burrow's touchdown passes, as he racked up 15 catches for 192 yards. The Cardinals had been a pretty solid defense until Sunday, so this could be a huge indication that the Bengals are starting to turn the corner.

The Seahawks did hand the Detroit Lions their only loss of the season, but their other two wins were over the Giants and Panthers. This 3-1 team may not be as good as people think, and they're catching the Bengals at the wrong time.

The Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Keeping with the theme of home underdogs sneaking away with victories, the Chargers will win this game. Austin Ekeler is back, which will be huge for Justin Herbert against this pass rush. Even with Ekeler only playing one game this season, the Chargers are averaging 408.5 yards per game.

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense should be able to rebound nicely against a defense allowing 433.5 yards per game. However, there are a lot of questions about the legitimacy of the Cowboys right now. Their three wins are over teams with a combined four wins, and they have been destroyed in their last two road games.

The Chargers have won two in a row, and while neither has been in convincing fashion, they're starting to play better. The same cannot be said for the Cowboys. Sure, they blew out the Patriots 38-3 two weeks ago, but that looks a lot less impressive after what the Patriots did last week. Once again, take the home underdog.

The Pick: Los Angeles Chargers
