Saquon Barkley Over 3.5 Receptions (+100)

Saquon Barkley has been Big Blue’s entire offense. The electrifying back is second in rushing yards per game. However, his receiving chops should be on full display this weekend.

First, according to the Betting Pros consensus line, the Giants are 5.5-point underdogs. Therefore, the game script should be negative for Big Blue, leading to passing more often.

Second, Barkley is the Giants’ headliner in the passing attack. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Barkley leads the team in routes (125), targets (23) and receptions (18). Barkley’s role has led to at least four targets in four of five games this year. He also had more than 3.5 receptions in New York’s only loss this year.

The matchup is great, too. According to Football Outsiders, the Ravens have faced the second-most pass attempts to running backs per game (8.8) this year. As a result, Baltimore’s allowed an average of 7.2 receptions per game to running backs in 2022. Finally, five running backs have had at least four receptions against the Ravens in a game this year. So, Barkley should be the next to clear that bar, and FantasyPros projects him for 4.3 receptions.

Kenneth Walker Over 62.5 Rushing Yards (-115 )

Sadly, Rashaad Penny suffered a season-ending injury last week. However, now Kenneth Walker will have a chance to shine as Seattle’s lead back. After an excellent final collegiate season, the Seahawks spent a second-round pick on him in this year’s draft.

According to PFF, Walker had the second-most rushing yards (1,634) in the FBS last year. Additionally, out of 341 FBS backs who had at least 40 rush attempts last year, Walker was tied for 10th in yards after contact per attempt (4.46 YCO/A) and first in missed-tackles-forced (88 MTF).

Encouragingly, the rookie’s ability to evade would-be tacklers has translated to the NFL. Walker has had 10 MTF on 23 rushes. He’s also shown explosiveness, averaging 6.3 yards per carry.

Moreover, Seattle’s running backs have been highly efficient toting the rock lately. In the last three weeks in neutral game scripts, Seattle’s running backs have had 350 rushing yards on 53 attempts (6.60 yards per carry). Penny was the leader of the pack with 188 yards on 33 attempts, but Walker also had 130 yards on 15 carries. So, with Walker soaking up Penny’s vacated work, he’s in a golden position for production against the Cardinals this week.

Thankfully, the matchup isn’t imposing. According to Football Outsiders, Arizona is 12th in rush defense-Adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA). The Cardinals have also coughed up 4.44 yards per carry to running backs this season.

The game script also should be decent for Walker. The Seahawks are modest 2.5-point underdogs, so they should be able to keep it close enough to keep Walker involved on the ground. Finally, FantasyPros projects Walker for 68.9 rushing yards this week, putting him over his prop.
