NFL Week 7 Pick’em Pool Advice, Picks & Predictions (2023)

Week 6 was the wildest of the 2023 season thus far. The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the New York Jets, the San Francisco 49ers lost to PJ Walker and the Cleveland Browns, and the Buffalo Bills very nearly fell to the New York Giants. There were also some significant injuries, with Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and Kyren Williams just a few of the players who could miss some time.

Here is our best NFL pick-em advice for Week 7.

NFL Week 7 Pick’Em Pool Advice

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Chicago Bears

We could be in for a battle of backup quarterbacks, as Jimmy Garoppolo is questionable and Justin Fields is doubtful. It seems as though the Raiders are ready to turn it over to Brian Hoyer, who was Garoppolo’s replacement, rather than Aidan O’Connell against the New England Patriots. Hoyer is a very capable veteran, and he threw for 102 yards last week.

The outlook isn’t so rosy for the Bears. Rookie Tyson Bageant made his NFL debut in Week 6, and he was far from dangerous. He finished the game 10-14 for 83 yards and one interception.

The Raiders’ defense has been very good, with the exception of one game this season. It’s hard to imagine Bageant doing much of anything against them. Whether it’s Hoyer or Garoppolo, the Raiders will be able to put up at least 20 points in this game. That’s more than enough to win.

The Pick: Las Vegas Raiders

Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens are favored by three points over the Lions, but we believe that is strictly because they’re the home team. The Lions are 5-1 against the spread and straight up, and they have won their last four games by at least 14 points.

The Ravens are 4-2, but they have yet to look impressive this season. They did beat the Cleveland Browns 28-3, but that was a game started by Dorian Thompson-Robinson. They are averaging 144.8 rushing yards per game, but that plays right into the strength of the Lions’ defense. The Lions are allowing just 64.7 rushing yards per game.

The Ravens’ passing offense is 24th in the league, so we don’t imagine them taking advantage of the Lions’ secondary. And while the Ravens’ defense is very good, the Lions’ offense looks great right now. David Montgomery is likely out, but it seems likely Jahmyr Gibbs will play this week. And with Jared Goff playing how he is, we like him to outscore Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

The Pick: Detroit Lions

Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos

The Broncos’ defense actually looked really good in their Thursday night loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. While they gave up 389 total yards, the defense held the Chiefs to four field goals. However, the offense was terrible, managing just 197 yards and turning the ball over three times.

This week, the Broncos get the Packers coming off their bye. The Packers are favored in this game, but it’s hard to understand why. They’re 1-2 on the road this season, with their lone win coming over the Bears. Aaron Jones seems ready to return, which is huge for the Packers as they face the worst run defense in football.

Both of these teams have lost back-to-back games, but it’s the Broncos who seem like they’re turning in the right direction, while the Packers are drifting in the wrong direction. This is going to be a very close game, but we’re going to give the edge to the experience of Russell Wilson and the Broncos’ improving defense.

The Pick: Denver Broncos

Miami Dolphins vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Sunday Night Football features the game of the week in the NFL. The 5-1 Eagles host the 5-1 Dolphins in what should be an incredibly high-scoring game. Jalen Hurts is coming off a three-interception game, but the Dolphins’ defense isn’t the type of team that can apply enough pressure to make him look as bad as he did last week.

The Dolphins’ offense has been well-documented, and they get a good matchup against a beat-up secondary this week. Yet, as the season starts to take shape, it’s becoming very clear that the Dolphins’ victories have come against some of the worst teams in the NFL. The only team they played above .500 beat them by 28 points.

The Eagles have the second-best run defense in football, and while the Dolphins have no problem throwing, if they become one-dimensional, they become much easier to cover. The Eagles lost last week because of the defense they faced. They’ll get back to winning this week against a very weak defense.

The Pick: Philadelphia Eagles
