NFL Week 7 Totals Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

That’s three straight successful 2-1 weeks against the number. The under was 13-2 last week… 13-2! Through six weeks, we haven’t seen this many games finish under the number in nearly a quarter century! While that’s certainly a trend, I don’t expect that to continue. We should see a market correction in the coming weeks, and we’re going to look to take advantage of it where we can.

There are a couple of games that stand out as opportunities for backing the number to go over, and one that may just end up in a scoreless tie. Read on to find out what those games are.

Let’s get to the picks.

    Week 7 Totals Picks

    Las Vegas Raiders @ Chicago Bears – O/U 37.5

Both of these teams have massive issues. Chicago lost quarterback Justin Fields to a dislocated finger in the third quarter of last week’s 19-13 loss to the Vikings, and that will sideline him indefinitely. Undrafted rookie free agent Tyson Bagent came on in relief, throwing for just 83 yards and an interception. In his first NFL start, Bagent and the Bears offensive line will have to contend with one of the best pass rushers in the league on Sunday when Maxx Crosby and the Raiders come to town.

Las Vegas has plenty of issues of their own. QB Jimmy Garoppolo is dealing with a back injury and it does not look like he’ll be able to go Sunday. That means either career-backup Brian Hoyer or rookie Aidan O’Connell will get the start. As if that wasn’t enough to deal with, star wide receiver Davante Adams has started to voice his frustration with the lack of targets he’s seen this season. With both offenses in complete disarray, even a number this low is too high. Back the under confidently here.

    The Pick: Under 37.5 (-115)

    New York Giants @ Washington Commanders – O/U 39.5

The Giants are another team with a ton of problems on offense. So much so that they pulled veteran offensive lineman Justin Pugh out of retirement and back onto the field last week. The good news is that New York also got their best offensive weapon Saquon Barkley back from a high ankle sprain last week. The biggest question going into Sunday is whether or not quarterback Daniel Jones will play, as the signal caller is dealing with a neck injury and is questionable.

The Commanders, on the other hand, may have found their quarterback of the future in Sam Howell. The second-year QB is averaging 250 yards per game through the air with nine touchdowns so far this season. However, the key here is the defenses. These two teams rank 28th and 29th in the league in points allowed per game. Both offenses should be able to move the ball well enough to get over the number this week. This might be the best totals bet on the board this week.

    The Pick: Over 39.5 (-105)

    Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens  – O/U 42.5

Is this the year the Lions finally break through and get to the Super Bowl? Lions fans will tell you it is, but there’s a long way to go before we get there. This week, the Lions travel to Baltimore to face a Ravens team that is at home for the first time in a month. Detroit has scored the fourth-most points in the league thus far in season, with Jared Goff leading the way and plenty of weapons around him, including rookie tight end Sam LaPorta.

The Ravens’ offense has been solid, posting just under 145 yards per game on the ground, thanks in large part to the legs of quarterback Lamar Jackson. Rookie wideout Zay Flowers has been a huge addition to the passing game, alongside tight end Mark Andrews and the aforementioned ground attack. Both teams should be able to score enough to push this game over the number.

    The Pick: Over 42.5 (-115)
