NFL Week 7 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions (2023)

We’re heading into Week 7 of the 2023 NFL regular season, and for the first time in nearly a month, all of the games will be played on North American soil. In addition, we have six teams resting their bumps and bruises with a bye week, as the Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans are all off.

Out of 12 total games Sunday and Monday, 10 of them will be outdoors, with just two games playing under controlled conditions. That’s the highest percentage of outdoor games at any point this season. The good news is that Mother Nature appears willing to cooperate, as conditions appear to be pleasant at all 10 venues.

Let’s look at the Week 7 weather report.

NFL Week 7 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions (2023)

(All forecasts courtesy of AccuWeather.com)

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5), Total 37.5

Forecast: 81 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 3-5 MPH

The temperatures will still be toasty on the Suncoast, and unlike preseason games in August and early-season games in September, we won’t have a strong chance of thunderstorms. It will be a very pleasant Sunday in Tampa.

Las Vegas Raiders (-2.5) at Chicago Bears, Total 37.5

Forecast: 52 degrees, 5% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 6-9 MPH

The Raiders head outside for one of their coolest games of the season, and there is 0% chance they’ll see Bears QB Justin Fields, who is out with a dislocated thumb.

Cleveland Browns (-3.5) at Indianapolis Colts, Total 40.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Browns head indoors for the first time this season. In fact, they’re playing just their second game outside of Cleveland. The Colts officially ruled out QB Anthony Richardson for the season, so backup QB Gardner Minshew continues to start.

Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens (-3), Total 43.5

Forecast: 61 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 12-16 mph

While no precipitation is expected in Charm City, Baltimore will be among the windiest venues of the weekend, perhaps wreaking havoc on the pass and kick games.

Buffalo Bills (-8.5) at New England Patriots, Total 40.5

Forecast: 56 degrees, 5% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 12-16 MPH

The weather will be pretty nice for October by Massachusetts standards, although there will be some gusty winds at times. That might favor a stronger run game.

Washington Commanders (-2.5) at New York Giants, Total 37.5

Forecast: 55 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 13-16 MPH

The Giants will be glad to finally play a game at home, which is rather dry. The weather won’t be perfect, though, as winds will be gusting upwards of 15-20 mph at times.

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks (-7.5), Total 44.5

Forecast: 57 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 4-6 MPH

There could be a little drizzle, but nothing too bad for the Pacific Northwest at this time of year. The winds will be light, and there will be a gray cloud cover.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Los Angeles Rams (-3), Total 43.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Steelers are playing their third road game, and each of the games has been played out west at indoor venues.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5), Total 47.5

Forecast: 66 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 9-12 MPH

The Chargers hit the road for Arrowhead Stadium, and regardless of the records, this one is usually close. These AFC West rivals won’t have to worry about any precipitation.

Green Bay Packers (-1.5) at Denver Broncos, Total 45

Forecast: 73 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 4-6 MPH

The Packers travel to the Mile High City in a battle of two losing teams. The biggest winner is the City of Denver, as this will be a Chamber of Commerce weather day.

Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles (-2.5), Total 51.5

Forecast: 52 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 12-15 MPH

The Dolphins head north for “Sunday Night Football” in the City of Brotherly Love. It will be a bit on the cool side, but there won’t be any precipitation with a steady wind.

San Francisco 49ers (-7) at Minnesota Vikings, Total 44

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The 49ers head indoors for the second time this season. So there are no questions about the weather, but several questions about the status of star players like LB Dre Greenlaw, RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Deebo Samuel and OT Trent Williams.
