NFL Week 8 Confidence Pool Advice, Picks & Predictions (2023)

Just like the public, we had a poor Week 7 with our confidence picks, going 5-8. However, we’re still in the top 3,500 on ESPN, inside the 96.4% percentile with a 69-37 record.

Let’s try and get back on track with the Week 8 matchups.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks

(1) Steelers | Jaguars vs. Steelers

Somehow, the Pittsburgh Steelers are 4-2. With a home game against the Jaguars and Diontae Johnson back in action, I’ll take the Steelers in an upset.

(2) Packers | Vikings vs. Packers

We know how this story plays out. The Vikings earned a massive upset against the 49ers on “Monday Night Football.” They’ve got one less day to prepare for this game against the Packers on the road. Go Pack go!

(3) Bears | Bears vs. Chargers

It’s time to be a bit more aggressive. I thought Tyson Bagent played very efficiently for the Bears. He’s given them confidence. Meanwhile, the Chargers get too much hype for a two-win team.

(4) Seahawks | Browns vs. Seahawks

We don’t know who will play quarterback for the Browns next week. It’ll be Deshaun Watson if he’s healthy. But at this time, it’s unclear if he is. I’ll go with the sure thing in Geno Smith and the Seahawks.

(5) Falcons | Falcons vs. Titans

The Falcons will have Bijan Robinson back in the mix next week. While Desmond Ridder made some mistakes last week, he’ll put those behind him and play a quality game against the Titans.

(6) Saints | Saints vs. Colts

The Colts have been all over the place this year. The offense will be good under Gardner Minshew, but it’ll also commit many turnovers. The Saints are a defense that will earn many turnovers.

(7) Texans | Texans vs. Panthers

I’m excited to see this matchup between C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young. Right now, the Texans have looked much better to start the season. Carolina doesn’t even have a win this year.

(8) 49ers | Bengals vs. 49ers

I know the 49ers have lost two straight games, but It was good to see Christian McCaffrey completely healthy. San Francisco will regain its composure against the Bengals on a regular 4:25 p.m. ET start.

(9) Jets | Jets vs. Giants

This is a must-win for both New York teams. However, I think the Jets have the better defense and can play complementary football well with Zach Wilson.

(10) Bills | Buccaneers vs. Bills

The Bills fall into the same trap every year. They’re not the best team in the NFL. But they’ll get by an inconsistent Buccaneers squad.

(11) Cowboys | Rams vs. Cowboys

The Rams don’t have a legitimate running back right now. Darrell Henderson Jr. and Royce Freeman did a good job last weekend, but those aren’t the best options at the position in 2024. That’s why they were able to be signed.

(12) Dolphins | Patriots vs. Dolphins

It will be difficult for Mac Jones and the Patriots to keep up with the Miami offense on the road.

(13) Eagles | Eagles vs. Commanders

I know the Commanders gave the Eagles trouble last time out and sent the most recent matchup into overtime. Still, the Eagles are trending up, while the Commanders struggled to get by against the Giants.

(14) Lions | Raiders vs. Lions

Last weekend was a nightmare. But we’ve seen the Lions enough this season to know that they’re no fluke. Dan Campbell will have his guys ready on Monday Night Football.

(15) Chiefs | Chiefs vs. Broncos

The Chiefs and Broncos typically play closer games. But we know how this game will finish!

(16) Ravens | Ravens vs. Cardinals

After Baltimore’s dominant win against the Lions, there’s no doubt in my mind that the Ravens take care of business against the Cardinals.
