NFL Week 8 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Commanders vs. Colts
This week, the Colts announced Matt Ryan would essentially be benched for the season with Sam Ehlinger taking over at quarterback. Though Ryan has struggled mightily in his Colts tenure, he is far from the only problem. The offensive line has underperformed, struggling in pass blocking (3rd in sacks allowed) and run blocking (31st in adjusted line yards). This has led to a last ranked DVOA total offense.
The Commanders woke up a bit offensively with Taylor Heinicke. His overall numbers we're eye-popping but he registered only one sack against, something that plagued the offense under Carson Wentz. Heinicke showed an ability to keep the offense moving forward even if it's not flashy. This should be more than enough against a Colts team that may already be looking to next year.
